Being In-home therapists means we can help navigate real world situations for your little one.

Our therapists can tailor treatment to your child's actual home routines—whether it's climbing stairs, navigating the kitchen, or getting dressed in their own room. That means more practical, real-world gains.

If your child seems to be checking the boxes upon testing, but at home, they still struggle to complete functional tasks give us a call

To say there has been a lot to be angry and sad about lately would be an understatement.

The other day the president referred to autism as a "horror show". Words matter and that word choice is absolutely insulting to all autistic children and adults. Neurodiversity is not a horror show, not a disease, and not something that needs to be cured. It is something that needs love, support, and acceptance.

Follow that with the events that occurred yesterday where there was yet another school shooting where innocent children lost their lives, parents lost their children, and a community was shattered.

If the focus is to protect our children, let's start with the leading cause in death among children which is guns. My heart breaks for the families in Minnesota and all over the country who have lost children to gun violence. No child should be scared to go to school, no parent should be scared to send their child to school, and no educator should be scared to go to work. Bottom line, this country needs improved gun control policies, and we need them now.

Don't worry, we've got you!

Our DC team is gassed up 🏎 and ready to come to your home for therapies! We have always provided in home care because the children feel safer and more at ease in their own space. That comfort often leads to better engagement, reduced anxiety, and more natural progress during therapy. Being able to stay home in their safe space is just one of the benefits of in-home therapy.

Now more than ever, we understand the need safety. Not just for the children, but for the whole family. We are well aware and fully respect families opting to stay in rather leave their home due to the current state of our city. For that reason, we wanted to remind you that we provide mobile care; in your home, at your child's daycare/school, or wherever they spend their time. We are here for you 💓and don't worry, we are too busy focusing on the task at hand then to notice if your kitchen is swept. Just in case you were wondering 🧹🧹🧹

This year the first day of school feels different for many students and families in Washington, DC 😥

This should be a day filled with excitement for the new school year. Students should be running into their classrooms filled with a hunger to learn and curiosity for what awaits in the year ahead. Meanwhile, parents should be beaming with pride sending their children off to learn and grow.

However, this year many students and families are filled with anxiety, fear, and hesitancy. This is a reminder to be kind, be patient, be empathetic, and help the vulnerable members of our community. If you live near a school, along a walking route, or ride public transit with students; make an effort to smile, to wave, and to cheer the future of our great city on as they head off to conquer another amazing school year!

💙 Preparing for Your Child's Appointment

You know your child best—especially when it comes to comfort. If there's something that helps soothe or ground them in new environments, you're welcome to bring it along. This can include favorite stuffies, sensory toys, or other comforting items.

For evaluations and therapy sessions, especially ones involving motor, communication, or feeding, we recommend wearing lose fitting clothing: 👟 The shoes your child wears most often 🦵 Any braces, orthotics, or inserts they use 🧑‍🦽 Mobility or communication aids, if applicable 🍼 For infant feeding concerns: their usual bottle and pacifier

We've got a full checklist on our latest blog post of all of the things you need to know about what to bring, and what to expect from your Pediatric Physical Therapy Evaluation. Find the full blog post at the link in our bio now!
