More about Melanie:
Melanie has a realistic approach to a sustainable, everyday healthy lifestyle. She is a Registered Dietitian & Licensed Nutritionist with a Masters in Nutrition Education & Wellness Promotion. She taught nutrition, holistic health, biology, and anatomy/physiology at the high school and college levels for 21 years and now, women’s fitness for the past 8 years.
Since becoming an RD in 2007, in addition to teaching nutrition in-person and online, Melanie has worked as an author, speaker, spokesperson, and consultant.
Melanie co-owns barre3 Fort Mill, an exercise & wellness studio. Barre3’s body-positive approach and warm, inclusive environment offer a way to move that strengthens your body, honors your intuition, and lets you feel more like you.
This goes hand-in-hand with Melanie’s food philosophy. Food is functional; it fuels and sustains us. But it also nourishes & satisfies us. As a foodie family, Melanie and her husband make cooking and eating a joyful part of an overall healthy lifestyle, with the goal of ensuring their three teen athletes thrive physically and emotionally.
Drawing from her extensive professional background in science education and functional, weight-neutral fitness, coupled with her personal experience as a mother of three, Melanie offers a truly integrated mind-body approach to nutrition.
