In honor of National Nutrition March, I am dedicated to continuing the necessary conversations and advocacy to improve our community through the work I do with our foundation 🍎

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the American Heart Association (), Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council (), and UNC Charlotte (), we have the opportunity to identify where Mecklenburg County residents would like the future of our food system to go. I am joining these forums to encourage you to share your voice. The feedback provided at the over the next several weeks will help us all work diligently to provide much needed resources, education and support for Charlotte’s area food deserts. Lets do our part to heal ourselves & the people we love by showing up and sharing our ideas and information!

Feel free to tag us in the comments below if you are interested in attending one of the sessions (North, West, East, South or Uptown) as we wrap up the final stages of the 2020-2023 State of the Plate initiative. For nearly 100 years, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke and helping families and communities thrive. Despite all of the progress made thus far, remains the No. 1 killer amongst Americans, especially women. During February, nationally proclaimed Heart Month, raising awareness about heart health is no longer just about wearing red or just sharing heart health facts. It’s about all of us making a commitment to stand together and take charge of our health so we can live longer healthier lives. 🙏🏽
