Great day of training!

Our NETS team partnered with Buckingham County Department of Emergency Services and local midwives for an OB & Neonatal training day focused on emergency scenarios, teamwork, and skills that help us provide the best care to moms and newborns.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to train together and strengthen the partnerships that support our community. Thanks to everyone that participated!! 🚑

While in the NICU, our NETS team ran into Santa and Mrs. Claus spreading some extra holiday cheer. A sweet moment that brought smiles all around and reminded us how special this season is — especially for our tiniest patients and their families.

During this EMS week, we’d also like to give a special shout out to our UVA NETS - Newborn Emergency Transport System who specialize in caring for our smallest patients! NETS not only provides NICU expertise during stabilization at hospitals all over the state and ongoing care during transport, but also assists in the field along side local EMS! 📸 With Charlottesville - Albemarle Rescue Squad!

Recently CARS providers had the opportunity to train with UVA NETS - Newborn Emergency Transport System! Scenarios encompassed high-risk delivery of a newborn in the field, and crew members got to learn about specific treatment options offered by NETS, and be educated on strategies to best manage the unique scenario of field delivery.

November 17th is World Prematurity Day💜

It’s a day to raise awareness and honor the tiniest warriors who begin their journey sooner than expected. Our NETS team is privileged to be a part of their fight, specializing in the care and transport of our smallest patients.

Each day, we work alongside these families and our friends at UVA Children's Hospital NICU to ensure these babies get the care they need, regardless of distance.
