This engineer showed his appreciation for railfans by blowing his horn around 30 times as he smiled for the camera!

While waiting on our train to arrive at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, two Norfolk Southern trains 'race' each other, putting on a show for the crowd of onlookers. They acknowledge the crowd with a little horn action, while waving as they roll by!

I stumbled upon an 80 year old locomotive that has been abandoned for about 15+ years. It's an old Alco S2 switcher (designed for yard wok) that was made in the 1940's. It was purchased by the historic Clinchfield Coal Company in 1977 and was rebuilt. Sometime after that, presumably when CSX took over, it was sold to a local chip mill that used it to pull hoppers of wood chips to the mainline, about 15 miles away. I have more footage of the locomotive here. https://goo.gl/GRhgvK

Though their yard isn't that big, they are very active here. They usually have a lot of foreign power helping around the yard. I was fortunate enough to see a few Kansas City Southern locomotives helping out (I'll upload that video next). This is a mixed freight, has just about every type of rail car imaginable.

This was recorded at a place called "Chimney Park" in Pensacola, Florida. Just a few yards away is a default detector. I just purchased a scanner and was able to listen to the detector and the dispatch audio from Goulding Yard and Jacksonville. Enjoy!

The historic Missionary Ridge Tunnel was completed in 1858 and is part of the Missionary Ridge excursion at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum ( TVRM ). I recorded this from the last car, which was on a vintage Pullman car. The hour long excursion took us past a historic civil war train, which rests next to the TVRM line. I'll place a link to that video as soon as I edit it.

This is the full video from a couple days ago, where my son and I chased a CSX train across the old Clinchfield Railroad line, from Haysi to McClure, VA. The tunnel you see at the beginning is the Sykes Mill Tunnel. I have another great video were I explored that tunnel last year. Click here to watch that video: https://goo.gl/VQ3m47

My son and I chased this train from Haysi, VA to McClure, VA. It is definitely a beautiful sight to see. You'll notice that the train has track laying equipment that has the old Chessie Railraod "cat" logo, which was discontinued in 1986. Seeing that logo brought back a lot of fond memories growing up in Clinchfield Railroad country.

Video was taken at the Visit Mobile Welcome Center. If you haven't been there, it's a beautiful sight to see - and that's just one of many places to visit on your railfanning trip.

If you have a VR headset, put it on and experience the train as if you're there in person. Otherwise, simply use your finger or mouse to move the video around a full 360°. This was recorded about a 1/2 mile from CSX's Goulding Yard in Pensacola, Florida.

The 2,800-foot-long, 7,000-ton train, consisting of three locomotives and 54 rail cars, derailed 38 cars. Four rail cars overturned into Pigeon Creek, spilling an estimated 400 tons of coal into the creek. Six other cars turned over on the bank of the creek. (Happened on 11/18/2017.)

According to a railroad spokesman, two people were on board the train: a locomotive engineer and a conductor. The crew is based out of its Pocahontas division. The train was traveling on the company's St. Charles branch line, destined to a utility plant in Michigan when it derailed.

It was a beautiful day in Milton, Florida, at the Blackwater Swing Bridge near the West Florida Railroad Museum.
