, Okay… I have to admit… this was FUN 😊

I put together this little iMovie from our Rise Above Retreat this past weekend… and it actually captures the spirit of what we experienced.

But honestly, even this doesn’t fully put it into words.

For three days, we gathered with one shared theme:
to have honest conversations without managing everyone else’s emotions.

And what unfolded… was more than I expected.

It truly felt like sacred space.

There was room to pause.
To speak honestly.
To listen without fixing.
To be seen without performing.

Together, we took deep breaths of A.I.R.
Awareness. Intentions. Risks of Growth.

There were tears and laughter! We even sat by the fire pit.
We danced and sang!

And something shifted.

Clarity began to rise.
Walls softened.
Confidence returned.

More than once, I found myself thinking…
this is a divine appointment.

And now, as we enter Holy Week, I can’t help but see the connection.

This is such a sacred time of remembering that new life is always possible.

That we are invited to rise above…
to release old patterns…
and step into a new way of living and relating.

Not by striving…
but by allowing.

I’m still taking it all in.

And I’m already feeling excited about the next Rise Above Retreat in July 💫

Beyond Messy Relationships: Divine Invitations To Your Authentic Self

Let me tell you a quick story about when I received a call from a psychiatrist. Behind the closed door of my office, no one knew that my new husband had entered a season of psychosis. My client was in the waiting room, ready to see her wise professional counselor. But I was falling apart as a wife.

I covered red splotches on my face with make-up to appear focused, wise, and professional.

But in reality, I was struggling with isolation and trauma.

As the days unfolded, I was getting more and more anxious and fearful.

The bottom fell out from under me. I faced the fear of becoming a widow or a twice divorced relationship therapist. I began to lose trust in myself and credibility with my family. I doubted the feasibility of my private practice and limited income and energy.

Which meant I couldn't take significant time away from my counseling office. Yet I needed to nurture my soul and get perspective. I worried about my dependency on private practice income alone.

As you can imagine, I was in bad shape and desperate. But I wasn't ready to give up on my dream of writing a book. Nor could I abandon this journey of living my authentic self.

Over time, I discovered the value of nurturing relationships with successful entrepreneurs. They helped me think outside my therapist mindset and self-limiting beliefs.

That's when things began to change!

I learned out how to:

- Write a compelling memoir that became top 10 finalist for Author Academy Awards

- Plan my next level of growth by participating in a master mind group

- Have courage to model transformation for my clients, readers, and audiences.

Because of my continued growth and participation in master mind groups, I learned to:

- Attract clients who already "know, like, and trust me."

- Make life-giving differences with readers and clients on the other side of the world.

- Experience transformation in my family relationships.

Now I'm living my dream of being on this journey of vibrant authenticity. I don't need to worry about isolation or imposter syndrome.
