I love my job. I love the people that I work with. I am passionate about our mission, and I truly get up each day eager to go to work. I know that what I have is rare. I am blessed.

Thank you dear friends for our time at NCSCA last week. You made me laugh hard and didn't judge me for all of the delicious food I ate. You inspire me. Here's to many more years of hard work at NCYI!

I got to spend a long weekend with my Forever Friends a few weeks ago. I have known them since we were children. There is nothing quite like hanging out with people who you have known your whole life. When you tell them about something going in your life, they know the whole backstory without you having to explain it. These women have seen all versions of me, the good, the bad, and the utterly wretched - and have walked alongside me through the years. I am so thankful that we have maintained and deepened that friendship as adults. Thank you, Eryka, Grace, and Talitha, for doing life with me.

This was from forever ago, but I don't want to forget about the fun we had! At the end of school, we always celebrate by doing a Messy Meal. It started small but continues to get bigger and bigger each year. We brought a couple of new friends this year. I don't think they knew what they were agreeing to! 🤣

Last weekend we got celebrate Cai 's birthday. We did so many fun things! We barely made it off the train in time at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Escape Room. We went to their favorite restaurant (Buffet King 😆) and got them their first tattoo! On Sunday we hung out as a family, playing on the Wii and then doing our silly drinking game. It does my mama's heart good to hear my kids laugh their heads off together. Cai had me cut and dye their hair (see the last pics when Cai is with their friends), and we got to visit and be spoiled by family. It was a very full weekend, but so good. I loved celebrating you Cai! How about next year we celebrate but you stay in yoir teens, okay?

A couple of weeks ago, I was able to go on a thoroughly marvelous girls getaway with my friend Brandee. We indulged ourselves at the ritzy Read House, complete with white robes and champagne. We brought tons of snacks and beverages but barely dented the stash. I took the time to pamper myself with all the beauty treatments, and Brandee got me an unbelievable gift basket, personalized for our friendship. We ate in their bar, drinking uniquely delicious cocktails and people watching - we fell in love with the adorable couple we shared the high top bar with (they knew about *some* of the pictures). 😆 We binged the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders documentary - highly recommend - and despite my claims that I wasn't tired, slept a solid 10 hours.
More than the incredible time away, I love this girl. We met one night randomly and just clicked. I am thankful for someone I can be completely honest with and who accepts me for who I am no matter where I am on my journey. I honestly think she may have been the first person to do that in my life. Brandee, I love you, girl! When do we book our next one?

I hit my goal weight ten months and have kept it off. It isn’t about finding a quick fix. It is about a lifestyle change. Keep at it!
