Wellness Wednesday: Tdap & Td Booster
Keep yourself, and those you love, protected from tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough with a Tdap and Td booster at the Memorial Community Pharmacy and the Rural Health Clinics.
• Protects Against:
Tdap: tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough)
Td: tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria
• Who Should Receive:
Tdap: all adolescents and adults without a prior Tdap dose; pregnant people each pregnancy (27–36 weeks)
Td: all adults every 10 years; anyone with a wound if your last dose was > 5 years ago
• How Often:
Tdap: one dose (replaces a Td booster), then follow the Td schedule
Td: booster every 10 years (or sooner after injury)
• Important Notes:
Tdap during pregnancy helps protect newborns from severe pertussis
Mild arm soreness or redness is common and short-lived
Check immunization records before travel, outdoor work, or high-risk activities
