This year’s legislative session has come to a close. There were no bills that negatively affected Virginians’ rights to natural health care in the state. We continue to monitor Virginia legislation and will alert you if/when we see any bill that restricts your choice in health care.

New Year – New Legislative Session‼️

Happy New Year!
Virginians for Health Freedom wish you all a and prosperous 2026!

With the new year comes a new session in the Virginia General Assembly. Every year we watch for legislation that could harm the ability of Virginians to access natural health products and remedies. We also work to protect the ability of natural health practitioners to recommend these natural products and remedies to their clients.

We ask that you help us by:

1. Watching for legislation harmful to natural consumers and practitioners in Virginia. Contact our office if you know of any such legislation.

2. Be on alert for emails from Virginians for Health Freedom throughout the session.

3. Know your representatives in the Virginia House and Senate and be prepared to contact them ASAP if so directed by Virginians for Health Freedom. You can find your representatives by clicking here:

‼️‼️‼️NEW BILL ALERT‼️‼️‼️

Please OPPOSE HB1646

Delegate C. E. Hayes Jr. submitted a bill, HB1646, that affects the sale of “herbs, vitamins or food supplements”. It establishes the Chiropractic Board to “promulgate regulations regulating the sale of vitamins or food supplements by any practitioner of the healing arts from the office in which he practices.”

As written, this does not just apply to Chiropractors. It says “any practitioner of the healing arts.” It does not define “practitioner”. If you work at a natural health store that also sells natural products, you may be prohibited from providing advice on those very products.

This affects what the practitioner can do and say and also what information the consumer can be given about the potential benefits of the products they sell.

There is no exemption for people who provide information or recommendations on herbs, vitamins or food supplements.

Please contact Delegate Hayes ASAP and request that he pull this bill as it could have negative impact to natural health practitioners and consumers all across Virginia.

For more than 15 years we have monitored legislation at the General Assembly working to ensure language in various bills does not impact that freedom. We have offered and provided educational classes on a variety of natural health topics and even awarded CEU credits for many of our seminars.
How Can I Help VA4HF?
You can join or donate to Virginians for Health Freedom. Membership is only $25/year. Members are eligible for discounts on individual on-line courses offered through Trinity School of Natural Health, a leading accredited college offering degrees and certifications in numerous areas of natural health. Be Prepared!

It’s a new year for the Virginia General Assembly. The session begins on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. We continue to monitor bills introduced that conflict with our mission. Now is the time to get ready for the 2024 session.

With the recent elections, many of us will have new representatives in the upcoming session. We need to know who our Delegates and Senators are. You can confirm yours by clicking on the website:

Enter your street address and your delegates will appear. Bear in mind, these are your current representatives and they may change as newly elected representatives take office in January.

Make sure you have their contact information, phone number and email in case we need to respond quickly. You may also contact them in advance and ask each one how they feel about your Natural Health Freedom to choose. Let them know where you stand.

Please make sure your membership and your contact information is up to date.
