These late blooming Irises have been an incredible gift to me in this season. They remind me of life's surprises, gifts, and our collective and individual capacities to flourish at the least expected times.

Today, on a holiday that focuses on gratitude in spite of it roots in cruelty towards the indigenous Americans who taught early American settlers what was edible in this new land, I am especially grateful for the reminder that beauty can grow from any soil.

And so, I invite you to join me in remembering what has been, staying aware of what is now, and being grateful for all of the beauty that has been, is now, and will be.

Together we can create a future filled with love, beauty, and joy for all, as long as we keep showing up for it.

I am so grateful watching all of the pollinators work the goldenrod, asters, and the other currently flowering plants.

I love that they lean on my land as a place where they can find nourishment, habitat, or a place to simply rest and restore.

This morning the aspect of rest is particularly catching my attention. We all, every piece and part of nature, need that place where we can restore our bodies, minds, and spirits.

It is the rest stops that allow us to continue our journeys to happy hearts and joyful lives.

And it is by pausing to refill our inner resources that we create enough energy to change our individual and collective circumstances.
