Pumping in Queens 💨

📹

The FDNY battled a major 3-alarm fire at a mixed-occupancy at 19-05 Flushing Avenue in Queens, with heavy fire originating in a first-floor tire shop and thick black smoke pushing throughout the structure. The incident escalated quickly with conditions deteriorating as fire spread and structural concerns increased.

Command ordered all members out of the building as multiple tower ladders were positioned and foam operations were initiated to combat stubborn pockets of fire fueled by tire stock.

Fresno with some recent work 🔥

📹

Just after 4:30 AM this morning, Fresno Firefighters were dispatched to the 1800 block of E. Olive Avenue following reports of a possible house fire. While en route, responding crews reported a large column of smoke visible from a distance and requested additional resources, bringing a total of 32 firefighters to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from a boarded-up, vacant residence. Due to the advanced fire conditions and significant structural damage caused by multiple previous fires at the location, firefighters were forced to operate defensively and fight the fire from the exterior.

The structure has been the site of 11 fires over the past two and a half years and was ultimately deemed a total loss. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The property is known to have frequent homeless activity.
