back in May, 1,300+ walkers, joggers, & runners worldwide said “yes” to lacing up for 100 miles of moving for better health. slow + sexy paces, speedsters, trot talker and all speeds in-between have been hitting the pavement and as we near the August 31st finish line, for my Chicago squad it’s time to celebrate!

been missing my parents a lot lately.

in both the celebratory moment and times of transition, not having either of them a phone call away has been tough. aside from the grief, what those who don’t live the reality of a life without a living parents/guardian is that getting through every day is on you. sure, the love from supportive friends can be uplifting but not having that source of unconditional love, guidance, wisdom and honestly, security leave a big gap to be filled.

so this one is for my grieving hearts: I see you. I love you. I am endlessly rooting for you. Don’t be afraid to isolate to tend to your heart or lean on your people. Take each day as it comes, because if there’s one thing we know better than most is that every single day is a GIFT.

think about that for a minute —

1. what thoughts have you had on loop the past few days, weeks, 6 months?

2. Now think about how they’ve impacted your life. Are you making progress towards that goal? Are you healing that relationship? Or…are you tethered to narratives that are keeping you right where you’re at while driving yourself crazy bc you’re SAYING you want something different but you’re dominant thoughts prove otherwise.

if you’re finding yourself stuck, try journaling for three days to the prompt, “what lord am I telling myself” then looking for reoccurring themes.

talk is cheap because your mind holds the truth of your heart.
