This is our final video in the Imposter Syndrome series. Imposter Syndrom as a mom in general. It really never ends, unfortunately πŸ˜–

We are always comparing ourselves with those around us, and this is even worse when we have pictures of perfect families doing everything perfectly on Social Media. I guarantee you, behind the scenes, they are struggling just like you. We are human. We will make mistakes.

We will have good days and bad days but that does not make us any less worthy or wonderful or any less "exactly what our kids need." πŸ‘ŠπŸ½πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸΏπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸΎπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

Most medical professionals receive very little, if any, education on lactation. This is one of the reasons lactating people hear all sorts of different recommendations from different professionals.

If you're hearing conflicing information and you don't know who to trust, find a Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine physician. Dr. Rubin is Board-Certified in Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine and can help you sort out your breastfeeding problems when you have them πŸ‘©πŸ»β€βš•οΈπŸ€±πŸ½πŸ©Ί

If this describes you, please call today to schedule an appointment πŸ’œ

Let's talk about Imposter Syndrome in those first few days after having a baby. It's for real!

You are never an imposter, and it's important to make sure you're surrounded by people who will support you without judgment during this time when it's so easy to feel like you're doing everything wrong.

Hang in there, mama! You've got this! β€οΈπŸŽ‰

I remember feeling like I was wrapped up like a pretzel trying to breastfeed in a hospital bed πŸ˜– It makes a difficult skill even more difficult to learn!

If we only had people coming to our houses after delivery to help where you're REALLY going to be breastfeeding. Oh wait... We do have awesome people who do that! πŸ‘©πŸ»β€βš•οΈπŸ€±πŸ½πŸ©Ί

Hire me if this sounds good to you! πŸ’œ

I was just listening to a postpartum podcast and the guest, talking about her own postpartum experience, said, "Why in the world do you have to go to so many appointments right after you have a baby? You shouldn't have to leave the house."

She's right. You shouldn't. Your doctors should come to you. You should also get paid maternity leave, automatic mental health check-ins, and expected in-home support for your typical household duties (like cooking, cleaning, and childcare for older children for some period of time). πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘πŸ½

Now there are ways to give yourself some of these things. Doulas can help with just about anything you need help with in your home. There are resources like Postpartum Support International that can help you with any postpartum mood problems you may be experiencing. As a pediatrician and lactation breastfeeding medicine specialist and IBCLC, I will take those treks to the pediatrician off your plate by doing house-call pediatrics visits (including full lactation support as needed). I will come to you. πŸ‘©πŸ»β€βš•οΈπŸ€±πŸ½πŸ©Ί

πŸ“£ Let me say that again: I will come to you.

Are you expecting a baby soon, or are you looking for a baby shower gift for a loved one who is expecting? My 4th Trimester Care Package is made for you! Make sure you've got a spot on our schedule - call today to set up a time to get you on the books. πŸ’œ
