We're in a really unusual macro environment right now. And I don't mean unusual like "exciting" or "scary." I mean unusual like several things that don't normally happen at the same time are all happening together. And that's revealing something.

Gold just hit an all-time high while the dollar is strong and interest rates are at 5%. That's not supposed to happen. Historically, when the dollar is strong, metals weaken. When interest rates are high, money flows to yield—bonds, treasuries, savings accounts. There's no reason to hold a non-yielding asset like gold when you can earn 4-5% risk-free.
