I used to struggle with consistency while traveling.

I’d follow a bunch of random diets and promise to work out for 2-3 hours each day right before the trip.

My goal then was to drop 30-40lbs before I got on the plane so this way, I could feel comfortable in my own skin and in the pics.

The result: epic failure.

Maybe I’d lose 10-15lbs but then I’d go on vacation and pick up 3-7lbs.

So when I got back home, I was either slightly down, right where I started or in some cases, actually up.

It was the most frustrating feeling in the world.

I was always restarting my weight loss journey because what I was doing just wasn’t sustainable or even realistic.

We travel multiple times per year.

So if I wanted to lose weight AND keep it off, I needed to take that into account.

I couldn’t live multiple lives.

I couldn’t have an everyday life, a panic before the trip life and a vacation life.

That was just madness — and the reason for much unnecessary pressure and stress.

Instead I needed something I could do 24/7, 365 (or 366) days out of the year.

Which is why I created my Everyday Slim Method to lose 88lbs naturally and sustain it for the last 5 years.

I didn’t rely on countless hours in the gym (my max is a 35-minute workout with the cooldown time included).

Having structure when it comes to your eating habits doesn’t mean depriving yourself of all the foods you enjoy.

That’s just sabotage.

Instead, it just simply means following a flexible plan that focuses on nourishment.

Making sure that you’re constantly fueling your body with foods that are designed to keep you full.

When you focus on this one thing, it doesn’t matter where you or even who cooked it.

You can still stay on track.

Unpopular opinion but if you’ve lost weight and regained it, you don’t struggle with consistency.

You are already consistent — in every area of your life and it speaks to why you have the success you do now.

You know how to stick to a plan because you see the end goal in sight.

You already know if you put the work in, you WILL get results.

Your weight loss goal is no different.

If you didn’t have consistency, you would’ve never lost weight in the first place.

The reason you regained it has nothing to do with consistency.

You’re eating the donut because you’re reactive eating.

Between your job, your spouse, your kids, and everything else pulling at you, nourishing your body drops to the bottom of your list.

So when the hunger hits hard — or you finally notice you haven’t eaten — you grab what’s in front of you.
Whatever’s quick.
Whatever’s easy.

Your kids watch you more than they listen to you.

This morning I decided to work out in the bedroom instead of using the treadmill in the garage. I put toys down, told my son to play, and started my workout.

He ignored every toy, looked at me, stood up…
and tried to copy every move I did.

And it reminded me of something we forget:

Our kids don’t follow instructions — they follow habits.

And here’s where I’m going to be brutally honest…

The habits that shape them the most aren’t our workouts.
It’s our everyday choices:
How we eat.
How we fuel ourselves.
Whether we prioritize our own needs or shove them to the bottom of the list.

You can tell your kids “take care of your body”…
but if they watch you skip meals, grab whatever’s fast, or push through the day running on fumes — that’s what they’ll learn.

That’s what sticks.

And those patterns show up in our own lives too:

Our energy.
Our mood.
Our clothes.
Our weight.

So the real question is this:

When we say “take care of yourself,” are we actually living it?

Because if you want a healthier home, it starts with you modeling a healthier relationship with food, not just squeezing in a workout.
