Everything I’ve ever accomplished came from having systems in place.

They keep me focused.
Eliminate distractions.
Replicate my actions.
Instill consistency.

And therefore, generate results.

When I decided to stop chasing all the weight loss hacks and fads, I tried “just eating healthier” — and failed miserably.

I kept wondering why couldn’t I remain consistent and then I realized it’s because I never had a system in place to help me remain consistent.

I had a wish — I wished I could eat healthier—- but it wasn’t a real goal.

Because for me, a goal has an actual plan.

It’s not just saying what you want — it’s taking carefully curated steps to accomplish it.

So I applied my same logic and I put a system behind my goal to eat better.

The result?

I lost 88lbs in 7 1/2 months but most importantly, the weight has stayed off because my system turned into a lifestyle.

A lifestyle that still allows me to travel, attend business conferences, enjoy date nights and live life— without stressing over slipping up and constantly restarting.

The moment I decided to stop dieting and focus on creating healthier eating habits, the game changed.

I went from constantly:

- stressing over food
- feeling bad after eating
- lacking energy
- watching the scale go up
- feeling self-conscious in my clothes
- restarting my weight loss journey every time I traveled or attended a special event or “fell off”

To being able to:

- travel and enjoy new foods
- enjoy being around others without stressing over food
- enjoy each meal more
- feel lighter mentally, physically and spiritually
- get excited about going in my closet
- wear all the clothes I was too self-conscious to wear in my 20s
- feel confident and comfortable in my body again

But it took YEARS for me to get to this point because I kept trying to follow all the weight loss advice out there.

I was investing in my education, career, cars, technology and everything else but I didn’t invest in my health.

Not a true investment.

In 2007, I was spending $400 per month with a weight loss company.

Lost 66lbs but of course, I gained it all back — especially when I hit corporate.

I started buying all the weight loss products and it seemed like the weight just kept coming back.

Then my wedding started approaching.

I signed back up for the weight loss company but didn’t reach my goal.

I gave up.

The weight continued to pile on.

Then I saw a picture of myself.

I couldn’t believe I’d gotten so big.

I signed back up with the weight loss company.

But again, I couldn’t force myself to stick with it.

I tried more weight loss products and hacks.

Nothing worked.

Then, I realized if I truly wanted to look and feel good in my body, I needed to make an investment.

Money? Yea, of course.
Time? Sure.

But the real investment: my mindset.

You see I had invested thousands of dollars already and invested over 10 years feeling stuck in a body that didn’t belong to me.

I needed to change my mindset.

All the fads and quick fixes in the world weren’t going to solve this issue.

I didn’t need another diet, meal plan or meal replacement.

I needed to commit to creating healthier eating habits.

Realizing the true confidence I wanted to feel didn’t come from me taking shots of apple cider vinegar or drinking detox teas.

Once I made that commitment, everything changed.

Yes, I lost 88lbs but most importantly, I gained myself back.

I gained the woman who doesn’t shy away from the mirror anymore.

The woman who has energy and no longer secretly hates her body.

The woman who’s found the freedom in a life that’s no longer attached to the scale and lose weight fast schemes.

You should never be made to feel like a failure in your weight loss journey.

I was recently on a clarity call with a woman who told me she’d joined a “fat loss camp.”

They gave her a strict meal plan, told her not to add any seasonings to her food (because “it causes weight gain” 🙄), and handed her a list of tiny portions that left her constantly hungry.

She lost weight, sure — but as soon as the program ended, the weight came right back.

She’s a full-time professional, a wife, and a mom of two girls who are active in sports and extracurriculars.

So she constantly found herself choosing between her real life and her weight loss life.

And real life always won (as it should).

She felt like a failure for regaining the weight after working so hard to lose it.

But the truth? She isn’t a failure at all.

I don’t give generic nutrition and weight loss info — and you shouldn’t settle for it either.

Someone recently messaged me asking for “tips on where to start”… without us even having a convo first.

When you know better, you do better.

But this isn’t just about me — it’s about my son, and the future legacies to come.

When I was growing up, I didn’t know anything about nutrition.

I gained 70 lbs between 9th grade and freshman year of college.

I didn’t know what healthier eating habits looked like.

So I fell into the trap of dieting.

I lost 66 lbs doing keto… and gained it all back.
Because even though I lost the weight, I still didn’t know how to eat to nourish my body.

Then I entered the workforce — and the reminders were everywhere.

Low energy.
Self-conscious.
Hiding from cameras.
Feeling like my body didn’t even belong to me.

I watched everyone else live healthier lives, but no matter how hard I tried, nothing stuck.

One of my clients came to me after years of dieting and losing weight only to regain it.

Your weight loss goals don’t need to stop you from living life.

I met up with a good friend from my business mastermind while she was in town.

She suggested a local Mexican restaurant and without second-guessing, fearing eating the “wrong food”, or dreading the painful “restart on Monday” blues.

I went.

I enjoyed the company.

I enjoyed the food.

I enjoyed life.

Feeling free.

Truly being able to be present in the moment.

But it wasn’t always like this.

“I don’t know why I’m so hungry.”

This is what she said to me during our call.

She’s an entrepeneur currently taking care of her mother.

She said she wanted to start focusing on her health so she decided she’d only eat once every 24 hours.

But by noon, she was starving and experiencing brain fog.

She kept losing track of thought in the middle of our conversation.

My advice: eat.

Your body needs energy to perform all the amazing things you accomplish.

While skipping meals, fasting and undereating may work temporarily.

Your body is keeping score.

And when you continue to fight it, your body starts to fight back.

Hence, the intense food cravings, lack of focus and hunger pangs.

The solution here isn’t to continue to fight.

This is what leads to overeating and those late night binge cycles.

To break it and stop it before it even happens, you need a new strategy.

One where you learn to work with your body.
