💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Emotional abuse doesn’t always leave visible scars — but its impact is real.

It can show up as control, manipulation, shame, or fear — often hidden behind “normal” relationships.

If this resonates, know that you are not alone. Healing is possible, and safety is your right.

📞 If you or someone you know is in danger, call or text 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

Depression doesn’t always look the way we imagine.
It can hide behind busy schedules, anger, or exhaustion — even smiles.
When we understand the many ways depression can show up, we create more room for empathy and healing.

💙 At Chicago Healing Connection, we believe in meeting people where they are — with compassion, not judgment.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you’re not alone.

Self-care is not selfish—it’s stewardship. When you rest, set boundaries, and nurture your wellbeing, you create more capacity to show up with presence and compassion for others.

💛 Healthy self-care sustains not only you but also your relationships, families, and communities.

This week, ask yourself: What’s one boundary or practice that helps me show up well for the people I love?

"Self-care is sometimes: going to bed on time, drinking water, or calling a friend."

Caption:
Self-care doesn’t always look glamorous. Sometimes it’s as simple as:
✔️ Saying no without guilt
✔️ Doing laundry so you have clean clothes
✔️ Going to bed when your body says rest
✔️ Reaching out to a trusted friend

These small, everyday choices are just as valuable as the big ones.
✨ Remember: self-care is less about “treats” and more about tending to your needs.

What’s one small act of self-care that makes a big difference for you?

September is Self-Care Awareness Month, and it’s time to redefine what self-care really means.

It’s not just bubble baths and candles (though those can be lovely). Real self-care is multi-dimensional:
✨ Physical (rest, nourishment, movement)
✨ Emotional (therapy, journaling, boundaries)
✨ Spiritual (prayer, meditation, reflection)
✨ Relational (healthy connections, saying no, asking for help)
✨ Practical (paying bills on time, planning meals, decluttering)

Self-care sustains us—it doesn’t just soothe us.
💛 What’s one small act of real self-care you’re practicing this week?
