Chicago When I was in 7th grade, I was searching for a CPS dance program that would further develop my street dance dreams and became our very own Debbie Allen who taught & mentored hundreds of young people at Lincoln Park HS. I was one of them. She introduced me to the work of Graham, Dunham, Joseph Holmes and Cunningham. We built a life long relationship that I’m beyond thankful for. I 💜 you Muvahhhhh.

Jessica “Phoenix” Brundidge and Leyda “Lady Sol” Garcia met in 2014 at the Kennedy Center in D.C. Inspired by on-going conversations, mutual passion, and a long standing history in Afro-Caribeña cultures, both agreed culture should be shared not only in traditional dance classes, clubs or stages, but as a JOY-Full, calorie burning dance fit experience. FIYAH Fit sparked a women’s-circle where all women could sweat and express their sensuality in a safe environment. Motivated with an active mission to connect culture, wellness, and sisterhood, FIYAH Fit has made its way into the world.

Since 2015, FIYAH Fit has created and hosted in-person dance fit parties and classes throughout Chicago, Atlanta, Maryland, New York, Florida, and Wisconsin. FF has been featured aboard Damian Marley’s Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise, in New York’s West Indian Day Parade, at WERQ’s Get Lifted Dance Fitness Festival and at the Brooklyn Museum.Buss di dance and bring a dutty-whine attitude to our next virtual and/or in-person offerings.
