It’s going to be a better year, but we’re going to have to pivot.

The Lunar New Year is bringing the unbridled truth-telling power of the Fire Horse next Tuesday, making it the perfect time to drop the old s**t (like hyper vigilance, group-think and scarcity energy) in order to make room for the new— and the totally awesome.

That trick to this New Year is to stop waiting for the other shoe to drop. Stop doomscrolling. Stop listening to black pill, nihilistic bulls**t.

Instead, get embodied. Dive deep into your spiritual practices. Laugh. Eat. Live. Love. And unclench.

Warmer, happier and shinier times await us.

Big message from spirit right before I saw a pair of little elf owls. Only caught one pair of eyes in the darkness.

Owls are a big deal in my family, with lots of belief coming from Lakota Sioux tradition. Yes, they mean death— but also support from ancestors. Tend to arrive during big threshold moments and irreversible change.

Things are about to die, but on time and in keeping with their cycle. My dead relatives are all around. And it’s all in keeping with the Creator’s plan.

Still… a little not chill. Hang in there.

They should have killed me when they had the chance.

But they didn’t, so a new all-dude Season 10 of The Skeptical Shaman podcast starts tomorrow, with the incredible talking all about The Barbarian Spirit. Clay served in the Special Forces of our military, ultimately becoming a pagan priest to offer the sacrament (plant medicine) that transformed his post-active duty life. Since then, he’s channeled messages, written books, and continues to pursue his pagan path with gusto!

Side note: he is a VERY hilarious social media follow, and his interview with Jocko William basically broke the internet

And, if you’re wondering: “why an all-dude season of the pod, Rachel?”

We’ll, because men are generally underserved- if not alienated- by the modern, New Age-riddled Business of Woo, but their unique perspectives and “medicines” are so, so needed, which is why we’re trying to challenge the paradigm and change the conversation. I mean: how many fake Pleiadian “starseeds” or Goddess Cult adherents selling enchanted manifestation bracelets can we take before we need a little vairety?!?

Time to mix it up. And the Skeptical Shaman is here to offer fresh perspectives that transform our understanding of what the Woo really is!

This is how your email finds me: alive with a living Star Dog, focused on keeping on, doing sessions and writing books in my little TOTEM home office even though we’re a little worse for wear;)

Huge thank you to everyone that supported us with kind notes, thoughtful gifts and purchases of our flower essences or TOTEM + PUCK HCKY fundraiser merch in recent months.

Our dog, Argos, got sick first and had the worst go of it. There was one night in particular that we think brought him close to, well, the edge. But a no-joke spectral visitor seemed to revive him, we found a great vet and now that we’re in our new home he’s got a new, non-toxic bed and the medicine he needs to start to get out of the ick. He’s more like himself than ever, and has even been running around like a goofy little puppy!

It may not be a fancy photo shoot with a glam team or more new merch or a “coaching master class” (eye roll), but it IS a snapshot of our real life— and how your very real human kindness and help well, helped.

Thank you everyone. I’m more inspired to do, write and make than ever before. And I can’t wait to get to the end of our journey so I can tell you all of the tea;)

Bad guys suck. But we’re not dead. And, every day that we get better and feel better and do more, well…let’s just say it’s not good for the bad guys!
