Haymarket Center Haymarket Center's mission is to aid people with substance use disorders in their recovery. We help more than 12,000 patients annually access quality treatment.

Haymarket Center is the greater Chicago area’s most comprehensive non-profit provider of substance use and mental health disorder treatment. Co-founded by Monsignor Ignatius McDermott and Dr. James West in 1975, Haymarket Center offers services that integrate substance use treatment, mental health care, and primary health care. No one is denied services due to inability to pay and a sliding fee schedule is available. Our doors are always open and access is possible 24/7/365 with no wait for assessment. The treatment programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Haymarket earned the prestigious recognition of Americas Best Addiction Treatment Centers in 2023 and 2024 from Newsweek and Statista.
