Un86'd

UN86'D is a charity created to aid in monetary relief for restaurant professionals in need. UN86'D is in the process of application for 501(c)(3) status.

In addition, we plan to educate workers on how to utilize public and private health care for their own benefit. We have all seen it: A friend or colleague gets hit by a car, mugged or gets diagnosed with cancer. Horrible situations for anyone, especially for hospitality professionals who most likely have no health insurance and can't get paid if they can't go to work. The reassuring thing is our industry, as a family, always seems to step up and help out by collecting donations, running silent auctions, and throwing benefits. We want to make sure that spirit is continued year round, so we have created a charity who's sole purpose is to be that extra help at a time when someone cannot help themselves. Through on-going events, initiatives, and donations of time, money, and talent, UN86'D is striving to band this already tight community together. Until then, we can only help guide industry members' choices in gaining individual payer insurance plans and lay out the best options for each individual situation. We will need all the help we can get along the way, but we believe we have the opportunity to do something really great, something that has needed to happen for a long time. One of our favorite bars in the city, Lost Lake, needs your help. Over the course of next month they will be poppin' up all over the city guest bartending for a good cause. Due to a fire, the staff is out of work and their bills will start to pile. Please head to one or all of the events listed below to help them get back on their feet.

Bacardi, The Dogma Group, and Un86'd present: BARAPALOOZA 2015 - Battle for Your Legacy.

On July 27th 4 bar teams from Chicago will take the stage for one hour to showcase their bar's legacy.

Crowd and Judges will vote... One team will be crowned HEADLINER and be awarded a 3-Day VIP Experience to LOLLAPALOOZA 2015.

**LINE-UP will be announced this week!

Full-Time Bartenders who register for Bacardi Legacy at the door will also get the chance to win tickets to LOLLA 2015 - there will be a raffle every hour during each bar team's performance.

Drink tickets and raffle tickets will be sold a the door: $10 per ticket or $30 for (4) - each drink ticket will count as your VOTE, so be sure to spend your tickets strategically!

Doors open at 8:30 - be sure to be there the whole time for each hourly raffle (must be present to win!)

Thank you to everyone that came out for our first Un86'd Art Show. It was a wonderful night spent with wonderful people. Special thanks to Sportsman's Club for letting us take over the patio, Uby Khawaja for sponsoring a delicious Absolut punch made by Austin Skiles who also set the mood for the evening with music and Jacy de Oliveira and The Bon Vivants for sending us a little more love by donating portion of the proceeds from the cocktails on the board. EXTRA special thanks to our Artists - Michelle Marrocco, Greg Morrissey, Kirsten Valentine and Andre Shakom, thank you so much! We hope to see you all at our next one.
