I am a certified 200-hour RYT yoga instructor based in Chicago, IL. I have been practicing and teaching since 2000

I offer affordable yoga to the community. If you practice yoga you will experience your own change. Personally, yoga helped me drop weight that had crept up on me when I was in my early 40's It has seen me through the loss of loved ones. It has significantly reduced my depression and anxiety that I have struggled with since I was very young. It has gradually changed how I eat. It was not an "all at once" change. It has been a result of continuing my practice. I hope to help others find their own path in yoga so they may experience the immense benefits yoga offers. The benefits of this ancient art are clear. Pick a class and go...find your own style and practice. The results will emerge...and more will always be revealed. This page is intended to keep you informed about my upcoming yoga classes. I will also use this page to share insights about the practice of yoga and to encourage and inspire you to develop your own practice. Breathe into it...

Relax & Reset-
Along with calming breath-work to reset our mind and energy level, we will explore various breathing techniques, along with some yin/deep stretch, where we hold the pose for longer periods. These techniques have been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and induce better sleep.
You will float back home :)

This session is 1 hour and 15 minutes. to make sure you get a full final rest with soul-calming music. A healthy and healing way to end the week and be refreshed for the beginning of a new one.

What you need to bring:
- Yoga mat (get a good one! ask me if you have questions on this)
- Water
Nice to have:
- A Mexican-style cottony blanket (highly encourage you to bring one!)
- 2 blocks
- Yoga strap
- Cushion
*some blocks/straps available in class

Door opens 15-minutes before the start of class.

Park Tower 5415 N. Sheridan Rd.
2nd floor Party Room

Cost:
1-class drop-in: $20
3 class pack: $30 (First time Intro)
5 class pack: $75

*If you are unemployed, etc. choose "pay in class" option when registering and we can talk.

As a suggestion, avoid eating a full meal at least 2 hours before class starts.

Please bring a mat.
If you are making a commitment to your practice,
I highly recommend spending a little extra to get a quality mat. It will help your practice, and it will be safer.

A few brands I recommend:
Manduka
Jade
LuluLemon
Gaiam

Nice to have (optional):
Blanket (Mexican cottony style works best - ask me if you aren't sure)
2 blocks and a strap - I have a few extra blocks/straps! First come first serve. But if possible please bring your own
Water

Yoga has the amazing capability to:
Calm the mind.
To create flexibility and strength.
Improve sleep.
Improve circulation.
Increased energy - elevates serotonin and dopamine.
Lowers cortisol - this "stress" hormone's s function is to activate energy reserves to respond to situations that call for action. But it is often over-activated.
It's an opportunity to socialize...we know new studies show how important this is!

On the heels of the FDA banning red dye number three which they’ve known has been hazardous for over 30 years. I got curious and and found this FDA database.
The first item and it kind of blew my mind. I’m confused. Why would they not first banner substance and then do all the testing and make the companies in the industries that want to use it pay for the testing and then if it’s safe, then they can approve it With our current system. Anything goes until they’re forced to ban it seems pretty horribly backwards to me.

It’s important to read labels on the fruit products we buy. Not to mention paying attention to the dirty dozen which list the fruits and vegetables that have the most pesticides and insecticide used on them and buying organic when we can.
In other words, don’t wait for the government to tell you something is harmful 🙂

Our Story

Welcome to "WorldYoga".

This photo is from the space where I became a teacher. Grage Place Church in South Loop Chicago. There is a big golden space in my heart for this room. I taught there for 8 years
