“These hands....they used to be such...strong hands.” (s/o to Neverending Story 🗣 Atreyuuuu!)
So...these hands have seen some life. In 13 years of massage practice I have learned more about ~myself~ than I ever expected. I will be indebted to this art of service for teaching me where I begin and end. I have told all my clients, the greatest reward I could receive is their appreciation. Seeing my clients grow in their own understanding of themselves is a not only a joy to observe, I am humbly in awe. I cannot express the skills of my soul without their willingness to bring me their burdens. I am so honored that my clients feel the love and acceptance I can share, and I will continue to facilitate and hold that space for them.
But for now that space will be with words, encouragement, skillful direction, and discernment. As I step back from my most favorite of the sacred senses, touch, I will enjoy growing long fingernails and glittery polish. I will make progress on my new workspace as it forms. I will be posting videos of massage tricks and myofascial techniques I’ve learned along the way. And I will continue to work with my training clients online with at-home workouts.
Please consider supporting all your local independents out there that rely on close contact for their trade, and don’t have paid time off. Chances are they often don’t ask for help and rarely enjoy to. We’re all savvy types that can find a way to still be of service. Find out their Square giftcard link, Quickpay or Venmo and plan for the future. Or find your local service industry fund to donate to. When it’s time we will all be here ready to work, ready to hear about your day, ready to make it hurt so good and look even better, and relieved that we still can.
