Last Friday, 4 of our collective members shared virtual space with 15 Liberatory Facilitation retreat participants, including folks from Neuroclastic and Haley House Farms. It was a lovely day of deepened understanding of access and inclusion and making connections across movements and organizations.

“I absolutely appreciated the SU team's thoughtfulness both in what we experience in the lead up to, during, and after the retreat. How wonderful it is to offer us coaching as part of this!” -participant feedback

You’re welcome to sign up for the fall LF retreat on 9/29, and can still register for this summer’s Conflict Analysis retreat on 6/23 or the Harm Systems Design Retreat on 7/7. Register for all three in our Liberatory Leadership bundle to save 50% off one retreat. All of our retreats now include 1 coaching session!

“Thank you for all of your work in putting this all together and facilitating the retreat! I feel understood, cared for, and have so many ideas of ways to integrate new practices into my facilitation moving forward.” -participant feedback

*tomorrow!* still time to register at ic.org/events sliding scale $10-$40

🌞Do you want to have better conversations about trust and accountability with your community? Conflict, harm, and equity can feel like the faultlines that put community and relationships at risk.

🌞What if addressing those tensions through the framework of organizational accountability could make your community stronger and more resilient? Join Stas and Leander from Spring Up on June 13 for a webinar on Designing Equitable and Accountable Communities! This webinar builds on their previous webinar about Transformative Justice in community, but you're welcome to join even if you weren't able to attend that.

🌞We'll talk about how to assess your community's strengths and growth areas and set goals around those collectively.

🌞Spring Up’s frameworks of accountability and the Organizational Accountability Wheel are informed by grassroots transformative justice and community accountability practice, and draw on the wisdom of the Indigenous Medicine Wheel, as expressed by the People of Standing Rock / Lakota and Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory.

🌞DM us if your organization wants to partner on a webinar!

Join and .intentional.community for this webinar on May 15 from 2 - 3:30 PM EST starting a conversation about how we practice Transformative Justice in intentional community! This is great for anyone in co-housing or community based living - or maybe you know more about conflict transformation and are curious to learn more about intentional community 🏡 Register sliding scale $10-$40 at ic.org/event

Transformative Justice (TJ) is both a philosophy of care and collective liberation, as well as a collection of practices exploring how we respond to violence and harm within ourselves and our communities. But what does that all mean, really? And how can we begin to implement and embody the ideas and practices of Transformative Justice in our everyday lives? Words and phrases like “community care,” “generative conflict,” and “accountability” all sound great, but what do they really look like in our lives and communities?

These are the questions we will tackle with you in our interactive Transformative Justice and Harm in Community workshop. During these 90 minutes we will dive into concepts like accountability and how we can practice on a small scale daily, how to plan for safety and care, and informed consent. We will draw on case studies and real world experiences supporting communities through conflict, restorative processes, and designing systems to enable transparency and accountability. There will also be space to share situations you are struggling to resolve and get feedback from the presenters and other participants.
