We welcomed our son, Elias, on March 22, 2026, at 9:05 AM. He weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces, and we are soaking up this special time with our little boy.

We’ll be taking the week off so Hannah can recover and our family can settle in. We apologize to any clients who are reaching out during this time, and we appreciate your patience while we step away briefly. We’ll get back to all messages as soon as we can.

If there is an emergency, please feel free to call and leave us a voicemail, and we’ll respond as soon as possible.

For anyone who would like to send Elias a gift, the best way to support us right now is by purchasing a meal for mommy while she recovers, through our Meal Train.🍕🍳🍗 The link will be in our bio.🥰

Insurance is one of the biggest barriers to care when it comes to custom prosthetic eyes.

Behind the scenes, Hannah works hard trying to navigate insurance and billing for our clients. It’s not always easy and it’s definitely not always straightforward, but she does everything she can to advocate for coverage when it’s available.

If you have insurance questions, Hannah is your person.

Each person who walks into our space has their own unique story.

Some are cancer survivors.
Some have been through trauma.
Yes… we’ve even had gang members.

Different paths. Different lives. Different experiences.

But for a moment, they all sit in the same chair while we create something just for them. 👁️

This is why we love what we do.

Our art doesn’t just live in our studio, it lives through each client who wear our art with them out into the world.

What’s your story?

We get it…

Getting your prosthetic eye serviced, cleaned, polished, or starting the process for a new one, isn’t exactly at the top of your “fun things to do” list.

Life is busy. Appointments are inconvenient. And if it’s not actively bothering you, it’s easy to put off.

But here’s the thing 👇
Routine service of your prosthetic eye matters.

Over time, protein buildup and micro-scratches on the surface of your prosthetic eye can lead to irritation, discharge, inflammation, and long-term socket issues. A professional clean & polish smooths the surface, improves comfort, and supports the health of your socket. We recommend a replacement eye every 5 years to maintain comfort, fit, and socket health.

It’s preventative care.

Whenever you’re ready for your next prosthetic eye service, we’re here!

📅 Send us a message or call us, to book your appointment today. Your future self (and your eye socket) will thank you! 👁️🫶

😓 Insurance claim denied.
💔 Heartbreaking. Frustrating.
🤨 Then appealed.
🧐 Then reviewed.
😒 Then “pending.”
😓 Then more documentation requested.
🥴 Hours on the phone.
🤕 Difficult conversations.
😵‍💫 Confusing policies.

👉 Care has already been provided and payment becomes a battle.

😡 When payment doesn’t come through, providers are left with a painful choice:
😓 Pass the cost to the client?
😥 Or absorb it and take the hit?

🫣 This is the side of healthcare people rarely see and one of the reasons the cost of care continues to rise.

👉 The administrative weight.
👉 The financial risk.
👉 The constant fight to prove medical necessity.

👁️ At EYEMKR, we make custom prosthetic eyes. Which are medical necessary. We spend countless hours advocating for coverage that should never be dismissed as optional.

😵‍💫 The insurance system is complicated.
😬 The work is heavy.
😮‍💨 And the impact is real.

But we will do our best to advocate for our clients and for our business.

😇 Thankfully, there are people stepping up to bridge the gap. Foundations like “In The Blink” help raise funds so clients can access the care they need for their prosthetic eye.

🤲 With community support and advocacy, we can create better access…without placing the full burden on individual families or providers.

🙏 Access to care matters.
🫶 And so does sustainability for the people providing it.

👩‍⚕️ Providers — what has your experience been navigating insurance and securing fair reimbursement for your services?

👵 Clients — have you ever been denied coverage for your prosthetic eye? If so, how did you manage the cost or work through the process?

02/26/2026

👏 Shoutout to Aaron for highlighting something we providers deal with far too often…

😓 The harsh reality?
Some insurance companies try to get away from covering prosthetic eyes by labeling them“cosmetic”.

Behind the scenes, that means phone calls, appeals, letters of medical necessity, and hours advocating for coverage that should never be questioned in the first place.

A custom prosthetic eye is a medical device. It protects the socket, supports long-term tissue health, and plays a critical role in overall facial balance.

At EYEMKR Custom Prosthetic Eyes this is part of our daily work. Not just crafting custom prosthetic eyes but fighting for our clients to access the care they need.

It’s not glamorous.

But it matters.
