Earlier this month OCFB held its annual student speech contest with 20 competitors. New this year we had two divisions, a senior level and intermediate level. The champion from both levels will compete at the district level in October. Congrats to the top five in each group who received a monetary prize, with first places going to Chloe Peterman of Avalon MS and Jalysa Iverson of Wekiva HS.

Save the date!!! Orange County Farm Bureau's 2025 Annual Membership Meeting at the fairgrounds - Monday, Oct. 6 , 6pm. Free for members. Don't forgot to bring an unopened jar of peanut butter for an extra raffle ticket for one of our awesome door prizes.

Schools will have a separate competition for the peanut butter than members and it does not include raffle tickets.

* Please note: Texas Roadhouse will be catering this year, Catfish Bob has retired.

We were very pleased to contribute $10,000 to the Orange County 4-H program. These funds will help support 4-H youth through scholarships for leadership and competitive events, fair exhibit premiums, project mini-grants, new program equipment, and sponsorships for special initiatives like the District 8 Citrus Project. OCFB President Glenn Beck and Exec Director Michael Patterson hand-delivered the check. Your membership dollars at work!!

OCFB recently hosted the Orange County Public Schools Board of Directors as a way for our two groups to continue to work together on programs and events for today's youth involved in FFA programs and agriculture. We were happy to provide a $2,500 to the FFA Federation for sponsorship of the state convention being hosted in Orlando in June as well as a $2,500 donation to the Foundation for OCPS to help support their food pantries.

OCFB was happy to help sponsor the year-end FFA Banquets for 19 of our member schools. We had a board member attend each one to hear about all the wonderful programs these schools are building and to encourage today's youth to keep learning about agriculture.
