Itās officially been 2 years since I started my Ileostohomie pages. From TikTok, to instagram, to Facebook, and now YouTube.
I started ileostohomie for a few reasons. First being the name alone, the term āostomateā sounds like a geriatric dating service and itās hard enough hearing everybody tell you that youāre too young for such a thing as a stoma. The mental aspect was hardest for me to grasp. The way my doctors and others around me kept talking, it was like I was supposed to be ashamed or embarrassed. I didnāt feel that until I let others convince me. Steven Universe Stoma is one of my best friends and Iāve always seen him as the thing that saved my life.
The main reason was my stoma nurse. She was so incredibly unhelpful she should be a politician. I had so many amazing ostohomies and forme ostohomies help me along my way that thankfully I ended up alright. Not everybody has that support system so I wanted to create one. Easy to access, easy to understand, free stoma education so nobody else has to spend six months sobbing in frustration over bag changes.
, one of my best friends and artist to most of my ink, helped create an actual brand for the community. āStoma Lifeā has now been tattooed on at least six other ostohomies with more asking each day.
has been amazing with replacing the missing pieces in the best way: all the humor and none of the stress.
gave me the opportunity to work with them and spread more awareness for ostohomies all over the world
has given me the perfect opportunity to help ostohomies with daily struggles like noise and the discomfort of a stealth belt by making super easy to use and super comfy stoma noise canceling products!
Everything takes a village, and nobody should have to go though anything alone. Thank you to everybody who has followed along and been with me through the last two yearsš„°š
