🌟 Student of the Week: Kiara Allen! 🌟

Please join us in celebrating Kiara Allen, a standout student in our 15-week Medical Assisting Clinical Certificate (MACC) program!

Kiara’s preceptor at Residency shared glowing feedback—something truly outstanding, as hearing such enthusiastic praise from a preceptor speaks volumes about a student’s professionalism and impact in the clinical setting. They described Kiara as “cheerful, kind, and ready to learn,” always prepared, eager to ask questions, and quick to take initiative. She’s moved from observing to confidently performing tasks like greeting patients, triaging, and taking vitals, and her preceptor called her personality “a breath of fresh air.”

Her instructor echoed this, noting that Kiara “takes value in and responsibility for her education,” consistently arriving early to study and using open lab time to perfect her skills. Our program director, Megan Luck, shared how thrilled she is to see Kiara making such a strong impression during her Residency.

Kiara expressed heartfelt gratitude for this recognition, saying it “motivates me to keep going strong.” She also shared, “Being an STNA encouraged me to go beyond and deepened my passion for helping others feel heard, supported, and cared for. This program felt like the perfect fit to continue growing in patient care.” Kiara hopes to earn her phlebotomy license after completing the MACC program as she continues building the skills that will help her make a meaningful difference.

Kiara, your dedication, compassion, and drive to grow shine in everything you do. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Exciting News! We’re proud to share that The Christ College has been awarded more than $83,000 from the Ohio Board of Nursing through the Nursing Education Grant Program (NEGP)!

This funding will support our new Night & Weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 3-year degree, launched this fall — a program designed specifically for working adults, caregivers, and career changers who need flexibility without sacrificing quality.

With evening classes and Saturday clinicals, we’re expanding access to nursing education while helping address the statewide nursing shortage. This grant also allows us to grow clinical partnerships and bring on additional faculty to support student success.

💬 “This funding allows us to meet students where they are—making nursing education more accessible while addressing the critical need for nurses in our community and across the state.”
— Dr. Amy Wutke, President

💙 Student of the Week: Brooke Gumbert 💙

Congratulations to Brooke Gumbert, a junior BSN student graduating in August 2026, recognized by Professor Maria Foley for her exceptional skill, professionalism, and leadership in clinical settings.

Professor Foley shared:
“Brooke has consistently demonstrated exceptional clinical insight and composure. In one instance, she responded quickly and effectively when a patient became unresponsive—acting with remarkable poise and ensuring the patient received the needed interventions. Just weeks earlier, she identified early signs of hypoglycemia in another patient, preventing potential harm through timely action. Brooke exemplifies the core values of nursing and sets a high standard for her peers.”

Brooke says,“I am deeply honored to receive this award—it feels incredible to be recognized, and it’s one of the many things I love about this school. I am very lucky to have Professor Foley along my side through it all.”

Inspired by her mother, a nurse, and her late father—“cheering me on from above”—Brooke’s goal is to begin her career in the ICU, where critical care is truly her passion.

She says, “The one thing I want in life more than anything is to be able to make a difference for the better in people’s lives at their worst moments, and if I can do that, then I have a life well lived.”

👏 Join us in celebrating Brooke’s compassion, courage, and commitment to patient care. She truly embodies what it means to be a Christ College nurse—and why The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences is . 💙🩺

Healthcare in a Day: Inspiring the Next Generation of Caregivers 💙

The Christ College has partnered once again with The Christ Hospital Health Network and the - Hamilton County Educational Service Center to host Healthcare in a Day, welcoming students from 13 local high schools to explore the world of healthcare!

Students from Anderson, Boone County, Butler Tech Colerain, Deer Park, Goshen, Little Miami, Milford, New Richmond, Oak Hills, Turpin, West Clermont, Tap RN, and homeschool programs joined us for a full day of learning and inspiration.

They heard from healthcare professionals across The Christ Hospital Network — many proud Christ College alumni — who shared their career journeys in fields like:
🩺 Nursing
💉 Medical Assisting
🫶 Patient Care Assisting
🧠 Surgical Services
💊 Pharmacy
🧪 Laboratory
🩻 Radiography / Sonography
🤝 Human Resources
💙 Volunteer Services

Students even watched live surgery videos with expert narration, learning what it’s really like to work behind the scenes in healthcare.

The day began with a warm welcome from Debbie Hayes, President & CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, and Dr. Amy Wutke, President of The Christ College. It concluded with lunch and optional campus tours, giving students a glimpse into where their future in healthcare could begin.

✨ From the OR to the patient bedside, there’s a world of opportunity waiting — and we can’t wait to see where these future healthcare professionals go next!

We hope they find The Christ College The Clear Choice for Healthcare Careers! 💙 💛

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Own This Veterans Day 🇺🇸

We proudly recognize Anthony (Tony) Boniella, our Assistant Director of Financial Aid, for his dedicated service to our country and our students.

Tony joined the U.S. Air Force in 1976, serving until his early retirement in 1992. During his time in the military, he traveled across the globe — from Korea, Japan, Okinawa, and the Philippines to Guam, Alaska, and Hawaii — and even had the incredible opportunity to fly in an F-16 Falcon fighter jet while stationed in Okinawa. ✈️

Now, Tony continues to serve in a different way — by helping our veteran students and their dependents navigate their education benefits with compassion and expertise. He also is a big part in making our college a Military Friendly School. In fact, many students affectionately call him “Uncle Tony” for his caring guidance and unwavering support.

This Veterans Day, we thank Tony for his years of service to our nation and his ongoing dedication to our students. He even made sure our students got pizza today in celebration of a day that is so meaningful to him and others. We’re honored to have him on our team. 💙
