The mnemonic ASOLDIER stands for A Strong Organized Leader Delivering In Every Responsibility. That is is exactly what we try to create in the fathers of ASOLDIER. Under the umbrella of Every Child Succeeds through the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the ASOLDIER Fatherhood group is committed to connecting fathers to available resources throughout the Cincinnati area. We work with t
he AMOM's group to positively affect the children within their homes. We believe by equipping the male presence within the family structure, you strengthen the family as a whole. Our goal is to give fathers the tools to affect the man, his family, his future and ultimately his community in a positive way. Fathers are oftentimes a voiceless group that have long been overlooked when it comes the care and well-being of their children. ASOLDIER uses a peer group model because we believe that everyone has something to give to the whole. Through best practices and learning from others, our fathers are able to navigate the obstacles that come through the experience of parenthood. We teach and encourage an active and playful lifestyle for father and child. In order to affect our families we have speakers from the medical community address our group on nutrition and an active lifestyle. ASOLDIER stresses education as a way of elevating ones family to a level of success. Academic success of a child can be accelerated by the interest shown within his household. We encouraged formulating this mindset within our children as early as possible by singing and reading to our children prenatally, creating paternal and educational bonds for life.
