Baton Rouge Tigers Australian Football

The Baton Rouge Tigers are members of the USAFL, and are dedicated to promoting Australian football in Louisiana for men, women, all ages and skill levels.

So lets go for a kick mate! In 2004, three boys from Down Under, Pat “Vanilla Gorilla” Muller, Mick “Shirly” Coyne, and Rob “Zulu” Montanaro hatched a plan to bring Aussie Rules Football to the bayous of Louisiana. Or at least the fields and parks of Baton Rouge. After selecting the moniker “Tigers”, the club quickly established itself as a hard-hitting, all round team. Unlike teams from larger cities, the number of American playing for the Tigers is always far greater than the Australian contingent, and new players are always welcome.

2026 season is fast approaching and we’re starting it off with a couple of social events!

For Super Bowl Sunday we’re gathering around at the Prezz house (sam ayers) *dm for address. Gumbo will be provided but it’s byob. Patriots vs Seahawks, who cares anyway it’s football.

Then on the 14th we have the tackiest parade in all of Baton Rouge SpanishTown Mardi Gras where we will tailgate in the St. Joseph’s Cathedral parking lot. Again, byob/food.

We’ll finally get around to kicking the footy on February 21st and continue on Saturdays from here on out starting at 10am!

We’ll take a break on March 14th to do a red beans and rice fundraiser at Pelican to Mars.

Then this year the Baton Rouge Tournament is transforming into the Louisiana invitational. We’ll be playing in New Orleans and based on early reports it’ll be a good run with a couple clubs from around the league. If you or some on your team are interested get in touch.

The Baton Rouge Tigers are getting together for the watch party LIVE this Friday September 26th for the first time since 2018! We’re crowding around the TV at and we’re raffling off some libations and a football so come get around it!

Come one come all to the greatest watering hole in Baton Rouge to watch the grand final. It’s basically the Super Bowl of Australian Football. No, not rugby, Australian football.

We’ll be slamming Coopers and raffling off some prizes so come on out and watch this wonderful sport! We’ll get started around 8:30pm but the game doesn’t start till 11pm so get ready for a late night Aussie style!

Great to get up to Dallas and run with .
They’ve got an incredible roster and are gonna do some damage at nationals. We’re going to keep grinding and looking to improve on everything we worked on. Looking forward getting back at it. Always proud to run with our brothers and sisters at .brawlers.arfc

Yesterday was symbolic of so much hard work, blood, sweat, and real tears.

Yesterday a footy team in Louisiana was better than the footy team coming out of Houston. Some of us on the had never experienced that feeling in any capacity in our many years on this team so we’re still in the afterglow of finally getting one over on our long time rivals.

It was a rainy, muddy affair but it was a ton of fun! Big ups to the .brawlers.arfc and and for their tireless effort. They are our brothers in arms and when they win, we win.

Louisiana footy is going places so get on the streetcar while you can!
