That is the question." A 2025 study by Healthcare IT found that the average American spends an average of 5 hours and 16 minutes per day on their phones – a 14% increase from the 4 hours and 37 minutes people reported spending on their phones in 2024. They also reported that 69% of respondents experienced phone-related health issues in the past year, such as: eye strain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, trouble sleeping / insomnia, and anxiety. If you don't, you'll get used - sucked in, chewed up and spit out by the machine.
You'll be convinced the *actual* world is on fire...deep breath in.
Exhale.

Come back to the present moment.
Be here, now.
What's going on where you are?
What's good and positive and beautiful?
What's challenging and unfolding and developing?
Be where YOU are.

The first time I learned about an information diet was over a decade ago when I first read The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. He said to stop consuming news and emails altogether. I remember reading how he said "if something really is news for Me, someone will tell me."

It's so true. The less news I read, the more free, happy and in my creative flow I feel. The more I read and fall down rabbit holes, the more I just feel like a pair of unblinking eyeballs.

Food For Thought 🧘🏽‍♀️💭 Chivalry is not dead. Not at all. I fully believe this. How do I know? Well, I went to the NY Renaissance Faire recently and had a great time hanging out with all of the Lords and Ladies of the land! Haha! It was so fun!🤴🏽

Sometimes you have to step outside of your normal to surround yourself with positive people - as in physically have a change of pace and space.

Don't believe the hype that "there's no good ones left out there" or that "people won't accept the real me" - it's all lies.
Be kind to yourself.

You can be weird and normal.
You can be happy and healthy.
You can be successful and loved.

Sometimes you just have to get out of your normal routine in order to access the "new normal" or new belief you want to manifest.
And you don't have to go far - a day trip can even reset your heart and mind.
It's as if there's another version of you that you can only become when you are outside and in the wide, wild, wonderful world out there!

According to an article published in the American Psychological Association's journal "Monitor on Psychology" researchers reported the following hypotheses on why getting out in nature helps you change your mindset:

"The 'biophilia hypothesis' argues that since our ancestors evolved in wild settings and relied on the environment for survival, we have an innate drive to connect with nature. The 'stress reduction hypothesis' posits that spending time in nature triggers a physiological response that lowers stress levels. A third idea, 'attention restoration theory', holds that nature replenishes one’s cognitive resources, restoring the ability to concentrate and pay attention" (APA, 2020).

Food For Thought 🧘🏽‍♀️💭 According to a 2023 study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), meditation can foster community by increasing feelings of social connection, empathy and compassion toward others, and by promoting intergroup harmony and reducing prejudice.

After 15 years of leading group guided meditations locally, around the country, in different countries, and online, I can definitively say this is absolutely true.

I've witnessed it countless times, firsthand.
People who arrive random strangers at first to the the meditation class
Leave as newfound friends and even soul-family.

All shapes and sizes,
All colors and ages,
All orientations and beliefs,
All levels of education and income,
The shared experience of meditating
Together
Is profound medicine.

It is not just social lubricant,
As food, drugs and alcohol are usually termed,
But it is also social force multiplier.

A social force multiplier is a factor or interaction that uses social dynamics to significantly amplify the effectiveness or influence of a group or individual.

Stemming from a military concept, it describes how a capability, like technology or morale - or meditation - can make a fighting force disproportionately more effective than its size would suggest.

Applied to social and business contexts, a social force multiplier optimizes human interaction to achieve greater results with the same or fewer resources.

And that is exactly why I lead group meditations.
I've seen people have spontaneous healings.
I've seen people manifest new work or open their heart to love.
I've seen people figure out complex issues that have been plaguing them for months in minutes.
I've seen people create viable, profitable new business plans, brands, and proposals in record time.

It's because of something I call the "Communal Mind" that only manifests when we come together in conscious, positive community. You can't access it alone.

Life is better, together.

Food For Thought 🧘🏽‍♀️💭 This is Percy. If you blink, you'll miss him. 🐱 He and I are about to play The Door game for the hundred-thousandth time today. 🐈🚪

Animals are awesome, especially cats imho. But they aren't just awesome, they have a therapeutic effect on our mental health, according to science.

A 2023 scientific study in Japan conducted a remote-format experiment with 32 cat owners in their homes. Owners were requested to interact with their cats for 10 min in a routine manner to prove that cats are great for stress relief.

The results showed that interactions with cats decreased the emotional anxiety of the owners *and* increased their heart rates. Hilariously, positive correlations were noted between heart rate and cortisol concentration, as well as between cortisol and oxytocin concentration.

Translation, hanging out with their cats was fun and stressful!

"The results of this study indicate that interactions with cats at home has an excitatory effect on the physiological aspects of owners, which is in contrast with findings of previous studies that proposed stress reduction" says the researchers.

This explains a new aspect of the mechanism of the health-promoting effects of cat ownership: they are *Positively* crazymaking.

"Eustress" is a term used in psychology to describe a positive form of stress. It refers to challenging situations that, while causing some stress, ultimately lead to beneficial outcomes, such as:

✅ Improved wellbeing

Back in 2010, I missed my window of opportunity to take care of myself at work, putting tasks and productivity before my health. This oversight resulted in my fingers being pinned between two 30+lb panes of glass next to my desk - I was trapped and alone in my office.

This was the moment I realized that something's got to give - if you don't take care of yourself, that window of opportunity may come back to bite you, Victoria.

So, I decided to make a change.
