We were honored to be part of Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School’s Diversity Day, centered on the theme “Acting with Hope.”
At first glance, self-defense might not seem like an obvious fit for a conversation about hope. But in many ways, it is exactly that.
When young women learn how awareness works, how intuition functions, and how to recognize predatory behavior patterns, something powerful happens. Situations that once felt uncertain or overwhelming begin to feel more understandable and navigable.
Self-protection is not about fear or violence. It is about understanding the many choices and controllables we have long before a situation ever becomes physical.
When girls learn to trust their instincts, use their voice, move with confidence, and recognize that they always have options, the result is clarity and agency.
And that, is deeply hopeful.
Thank you to the Georgetown Visitation community for inviting StrongHER to be part of such a meaningful day with your students.
