🌟Partner Highlight

We’re proud to see our partners, Chelsea & Jimmy McGill of Next Step Recovery Housing, recently interviewed in About You Magazine’s Mental Health Guide about their work addressing the critical shortage of sober living options in Arkansas.

Their story, “Shelter in the Storm,” reflects what recovery really looks like: safe housing, second chances, and community support. The article shines a spotlight on the power of community-based recovery support and the ongoing journey toward wellness after treatment.

This is the impact of prevention, treatment, and recovery working together.

Go read their story. Share it. Support it.

Society works better when returning citizens are supported, not sidelined.

Parolees are going to be your neighbors after their release.

So the question becomes what kind of neighbors do you want?

We can set our neighbors up for failure or we can set them up for success.

Big congratulations to the guys in the recovery house picking up their key tags tonight.

Those tags represent early mornings, tough conversations, accountability, and choosing sobriety when it would’ve been easier to quit. Nothing about this is accidental — it’s earned.

Proud of each one of you. Keep stacking days, keep doing the work, and don’t forget how far you’ve already come. One day at a time.

Recovery

So often women who are in addiction hit a bottom and seek help, and after being released from treatment they return to those same old people, places, and things. Trapping themselves in the un-safe environment of drug use and self-destruction. Next Step can be a way out of the familiar pain of addiction. We provide a opportunity for our women to meet and engage with new people, places, and things. This is a surrounding of positivity for women who want help. For many of our women, this is their first true experience with hope. For the first time in their lives they find the hope that they can live a normal life without drugs. That they have the freedom of choice.
