Purposeful Pediatrics, A House Call Medical Service

Purposeful Pediatrics, A House Call Medical Service Filling in the gap... bringing compassionate, quality and equitable healthcare to your doorstep!

I have been working in pediatrics for over 21 years and as a Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years. I have a wide range of experience culminating from a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery to after-hours urgent care to the Pediatric ED at Brenners' Children Hospital. In all these places, I learned that the one of the most important aspects of healthcare is servicing families with dignity and providing accessibility to quality care. In May 2023, I made a decision to follow my heart and walk in my true purpose of bringing accessibility to quality care to the community. I believe that healthcare should be available convenient to families regardless of transportation, work schedules, income or location. Purposeful Pediatrics, PLLC is here to serve children ages 6 months to 17 years of age. At this time, we will manage acute illnesses and provide also sports physicals at the convenience of your home.

✨ Motivation Monday | Women’s History Month ✨

“Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.” — Shirley Chisholm

During Women’s History Month, we honor trailblazers like Shirley Chisholm—who didn’t just speak about change, she served her way into it.

Service isn’t always big or public.
It’s in how we show up daily:
💛 In parenting — guiding, loving, and pouring into our children
💼 In work — showing integrity and care in what we do
🌍 In community — supporting, uplifting, and meeting real needs

As the weather gets warmer and seasons shift, so do the needs around us. Families need support. Communities need connection.

✨ Call to Action:
This week, ask yourself: “Where can I serve?”
Start small. Stay consistent. Because service isn’t just what we do—it’s who we become.

👩🏽‍🏫Health Tip Tuesday | March Awareness x Women’s History Month

“Everyone keeps saying, ‘they’ll catch up’… but something just doesn’t feel right.”

That feeling? It matters.

March is Developmental Delay Awareness Month—a reminder that early recognition can change a child’s future. While every child develops at their own pace, milestones like talking, walking, social interaction, and learning give us important insight into their growth.

And during Women’s History Month, we honor leaders like Renee Boynton-Jarrett, who have helped us understand that development isn’t just about milestones—it’s also about environment, stress, access to care, and support systems.

If you’re concerned, don’t wait. Trust your instincts.
Early screening leads to early intervention—and that can make all the difference.

At Purposeful Pediatrics, we listen, assess, and support—every step of the way. Because every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. 💚

Motivation Monday

“Do everything in excellence, not perfection.”

Perfection can keep us stuck. Excellence keeps us moving.

In parenting, excellence looks like showing up for your children with patience and consistency—even when the day isn’t perfect.
In the workplace, it’s giving your best effort, learning, and growing with integrity.
In our communities, it’s choosing to serve, support, and uplift others with intention.

Perfection demands flawlessness.
Excellence requires commitment.

This week, focus on giving your best, not being perfect.
Your consistent excellence will make the impact you’re hoping for.

This month, highlighted an article it published a few months ago on our Lead Nurse Practitioner, Katina Little, CPNP.

When we asked Katina about it, she stated:
“As I enter year 3 of entrepreneurship and building this unique medical practice, I recognize the strength in relationships with women who believe in my purpose and the value of this work. The women in REACH provide belonging, support and above all, push me to dig a little deeper and cultivate the leader in me so that I show up boldly in every dimension and role of my life, not just my profession! “

As we enter Woman’s Month, we recognize Katina’s impact across the Triad through Purposeful Pediatrics — redefining compassionate, accessible pediatric care that meets you where you are!

Community. Collaboration. Calling.

Motivation Monday
👩‍🏭
👩🏽‍⚕️

In a world that can feel unpredictable, women continue to rise. Through motherhood, womanhood, leadership, and service, we discover strength we didn’t even know we carried.

Challenges don’t just test us — they reveal our resilience.

Today, take a moment to honor the strength within you and the women around you. When women support women, families and communities grow stronger.

✨ Call to Action: Tag a woman who inspires you and remind her that her strength matters.

🩺 Health Tip Tuesday | Honoring a Legacy of Access

Here in Winston-Salem, members of the Black Panther Party recognized that the African American community was not receiving timely emergency care — and they took action.

They returned to school, earned their EMT certifications, and launched the first ambulance service locally dedicated to serving Black residents who were being overlooked.

That is what community-centered healthcare looks like.

Because of trailblazers like them, practices like Purposeful Pediatrics can continue the mission of bringing accessible, compassionate care directly into neighborhoods that need it most.

We are forever grateful. 🖤✊🏾

Let Them Lose Access
Pastor Mike McClure

If you’re always available, always fixing, always carrying it all — people will get comfortable with your exhaustion.

Meanwhile, when you need help… where are they?

Being everything to everyone will cost you your peace.

Let them lose access.
Not from anger, but as self-respect.

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to say no.
You are allowed to prioritize you.

Because access to you is a privilege — not a requirement.
