Here’s what nobody tells you: probiotics don’t work in isolation.

You’ve been taking probiotics for months.
Maybe you even added prebiotics. Rotated strains. Bought the expensive refrigerated ones.

But are they actually doing anything or just passing through?

Your gut isn’t just a microbiome. It’s a system and when the foundation is broken, no supplement can fix it. So what actually works?

Start with how you eat. Sit down. Slow down. Let your nervous system know it’s safe to digest. Your gut can’t heal in survival mode.

Support your digestion. Stomach acid, enzymes, chewing. these aren’t optional. They’re how your body breaks food down so your probiotics have something to work with. Eat bitters or bitter foods, especially before your meals. And again, slow down.

Stabilize your blood sugar and eat less sugar. Check nutrition labels, sugar hides in packaged foods, especially “health foods”, aim for low sugar and no sugar added, and reduce processed food to avoid unnecessary excess sugar.

Feed your microbiome real food. Fiber, resistant starch, polyphenols because your gut needs fuel, not just supplements. Think plant foods and variety, eat the rainbow.

Heal the lining by reducing inflammation and eating foods that support lining health, like bone broth and collagen and colostrum. If your gut is inflamed or permeable, probiotics can’t colonize. The environment has to support them.

Their stories all were connected by a similar thread…

I had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful women this last Sunday at the Fitness Sampler.

Each of them trying so hard to achieve their health goals, but when meeting real obstacles, they’ve struggled with getting real answers and lasting help.
Some of them have been dealing with their suffering for years either thinking this is just their life or just not knowing where to turn.

And I’ve been there too. When everything I ate was making me bloated, I was tired no matter how much I slept, my hormones and periods were chaotic, and I landed in the hospital on a particularly bad day, but the system I turned to for help wasn’t really helping me figure it out.

They didn’t have the time and just wanted to manage my symptoms while never even asking about my sleep, nutrition, stress, or wanting to understand the why behind what I was feeling.

I wanted better, I wanted to understand what was going on at the root, and to finally be confident in my body and free to do the things I loved again. So I got educated, I got mentored, I got certified, and I got experience so I can help others get the care they deserve too.

Feeling stuck lately?

You’re tired all the time, even though you try your best. Some days you wonder if this is just what motherhood is supposed to feel like, always pushing through brain fog, mood swings, or that heavy weighted feeling.

Maybe you’ve been told it’s just normal mom exhaustion or hormones. But maybe deep down you know there’s more to your story because you really are doing your best but it feels like something has to be working against you.

What if it’s what’s going on inside your gut that’s actually calling the shots on your energy, moods, and even your hormones?

You don’t have to accept mom burnout or exhaustion as your forever story. You can get to the bottom of what’s actually happening in your body and what your unique body needs to recover. It is possible for you to feel energized, clear headed, and in control of your moods.

The answer is a Root Cause investigation that looks at the right kind of lab testing as just one piece of the puzzle alongside a holistic view of you, your life, your health, your history. Here’s what it actually is ->

Postpartum depletion becomes maternal depletion when you haven’t intentionally rebuilt the foundations your health relies on to function. And I see this all the time with the moms who come to me.

They just aren’t getting the support and education they need to get better. It’s not their fault. We are not doing a good enough job for moms as a whole. I aim to try to fill that gap.

And when I dig in, here’s what I usually find:
Your gut isn’t breaking down or absorbing the nutrients you’re taking in. Your adrenals are completely tapped out from years of stress (internal and external) and sleepless nights. Your thyroid doesn’t have what it needs to function. This is all causing chaos with your hormones. And your nervous system can’t catch a break from it all, leaving it stuck in survival mode most of the time. All of it leaving you more depleted.

The hard part? Standard labs miss most of this.
So you keep getting told you’re fine when you know you’re not. And you keep running on fumes, wondering if this is just your life now.

It doesn’t have to be.
