Follow my my new non profit! 🚨🚨🚨Spreading hope and awareness and assistant to those with Holt-Oram Syndrome — one heart and one hand at a time.
Here’s my story of the adversary I over came and my why for this organization
I was born with Holt-Oram syndrome, which affected my heart and arms. After four heart surgeries before age two and less than a 50% chance of survival, I refused to be discouraged. Born without my left arm and with a shortened right arm, I found strength through the support of my family and friends, who encouraged me to play sports. By high school, I became the varsity football team’s starting kicker, scoring over 30 field goals my senior year and ranking among the top three scorers in Ohio. That success earned me a spot in an all-star game in Italy, where I kicked a 33-yard field goal for the American team.
I continued my football journey at Kings College as a walk-on, but a torn ACL during my freshman year. The loss led to depression, bipolar disorder, and substance abuse. My weight climbed from 165 to 230 pounds, and I spent time in psychiatric wards before deciding to seek help. Rehab marked a turning point—I focused on recovery, faith, and rebuilding my life.
After completing treatment, I attended community college and later earned a History Education degree from Cleveland State University, graduating Cum Laude in 2020. Today, I’m a full-time teacher dedicated to inspiring students. I also reclaimed my health, losing 65 pounds and regaining my strength.
God saved me at my lowest point. In my darkest moments, He gave me peace, strength, and grace. Through His love, I found healing, purpose, and hope—and now I live in freedom, knowing I’m never alone.
