It's estimated that over 60% of people who struggle with weight also struggle with emotional eating... why aren't we acknowledging this?
Well, we don't seem to have a very good strategy to fix it.
The thing is... not all emotional eating is created equal.
There's bad emotional eating.
And there's good emotional eating.
The bad kind comes from a negative emotional reaction.
The good kind is centered around a positive emotional experience.
One is visceral.
One is epicurean.
One is mindless.
One is mindful.
If we could allow ourselves to experience the good kind, we'd have a lot more resilience built up against the bad kind.
If we could slow down and be present to our food and to each other, we would feel the aliveness and expression of nutrition.
Research shows people have more self control and make better food choices when they engage with sensory and social experiences around food.
We're literally trying to force something that happens naturally when we... live.
This philosophy is completely contrarian to how we think about eating pleasure and it has the power to set us free and inspire new ways of being.
We're having this big conversation on Saturday in my new, free masterclass: The Pleasure Lever
