Be the example.

I was so proud when my daughter came home from her track meet with a basically empty container of fruit. She said the kids were so excited that someone brought it and absolutely attacked it.

It was the same case with the Movement & Mindset event and I hosted. The kids ate us out of all of the fruit and healthy snacks we provided.

Sometimes just simply providing the option is enough. Sometimes they need to see it from others.

Either way, I'm okay with being "that mom" who brings the healthy snacks and electrolytes (actual not sugar water).

Protective tensioning or muscle guarding is an automatic contraction of the muscles around an injured or unstable area.

This is the body's way to prevent further damage by limiting further movement which can lead to increased stiffness and pain.

Just stretching and constantly yanking on muscles or making flexibility over mobility. A goal won't fix this kind of tension. Because it isn't just about the muscles. It's also about the nervous system.

Facilitated stretching, which uses a PNF of stretching - proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, can help because it doesn't just work with the muscles, it works with the nervous system.

Protective tensioning is also a sign that an area may need to be strengthened rather than just stretched.

When working with clients, they often leave with homework that isn't just stretching. They may leave with exercises and ways to strengthen an area to help improve stability, load tolerance, or correct movement behaviors.

Both support your body in different (and complementary) ways.

If massage isn’t your thing, stretching can be a powerful alternative.

And if you already love massage? Adding stretching in can help you get even more out of each session.

They’re not competing—they’re collaborating.

Your body doesn’t need just one approach… it needs the right combination for you.

"We're all mad here" 🎩🐇

Soooo many people get self conscious taking care of themselves. Whether that is a little stretch break in a public space, going to group classes, or getting that wellness service they know they need.

You never know when your decision to step out of that comfortable space and do the thing will be the inspiration for someone to do that for themselves.

So be the weird one who looks a little mad, because if we are honest we are all mad here 🤪

Sisters, sisters, never were there such devoted sisters 🦚

We may not have always got along... we had to share a room growing up so that means duct tape lines across the room to make "sides", trying to move into other parts of the house just to have your own room, even if it was under the stairs... I never did get my Hogwarts letter 😒

But, as sisters do we stick together even when we wanted to pull each other's hair out (can you spot the sisterly love 🤣)

We both did the college thing and then the work thing only to head back to the classroom because we wanted and needed more. My journey took me to movement and bodywork while she followed hers to art and counseling.

Together we now work in the wellness space with opportunities to beautifully blend together.

Sometimes what we need is that small moment that makes us say "ooh, aah"

For me it's nature. Flowers. Animals. The sunlight breaking through the clouds in just the right way. Any full moon.

These tiny moments can almost feel like we have entered another dimension, one where the only thing that exists is what is right in front of you.

It's important we have these moments, especially when we feel the weight of the world (near and far) pressing down on us.

There will always be things in and out of our control, things that come easily and things that are a struggle. Just as there is good and bad.

For one to exist so must the other. It's our responses to these moments that remind us we can still feel wonder, even while carrying weight.

Started the morning with an array of protein options from and learning more about supporting our bodies from the inside out.

Followed by networking with the at .

Last stop was to warm up on this cold day and get some much needed vitamin d with their Vitamin D bed.

Now, time to head home and work on chores and spring prepping.
