Today was our final ship day of the year. The past 12 months have been nothing like previous years. From surgery in March to not participating in local events. The year has been challenging in ways beyond my control. Normally my limits are only on how much I’m willing to put in. This year I learned that I’m at the peak and simply maintaining my output is all I can do. I am truly grateful that I get to do what I do for a living and bring joy to people every day. Cheers to next year and hopefully many more years of making boards.

Crafty Doods - Ten Years Old. Today marks a decade of Crafty Doods. It’s hard to believe a hobby that was created to fill my nights and weekends continues to be my full time career 10 years later. I am truly grateful for everyone that has supported me, my family, and the Doods over all these years. This business has been flexible and fulfilling in ways that have allowed us to create this amazing life we get to enjoy. It is hard to describe the pride I feel when I think about all that we have accomplished. Owning and creating a business is not always easy, but this dream has been worth every late night and every early morning. Cheers to many more years of crafting fun and bringing joy to those around us.

What a way to end the year! We managed to BUILD and SHIP 100 sets in 18 days. That is a new personal record. One of those orders was also our biggest of all time. 38 sets going to the employees of a well known coach you’ve seen on TV on Sundays. Thank you to everyone who ordered with us this holiday season and I look forward to making next year even better.

📣 We are excited to share that we will be open this holiday season. I have been medically cleared to work as normal for the next couple months while I await surgery which will likely occur at the beginning of next year. Beginning today we will be accepting a limited number of orders for delivery before Christmas. We will remain open until all the spots are filled at which point we will temporarily close our shop to focus on fulfillment. Some of you may know but I thought I should make a statement on my medical condition. 15 years ago I had a TIA and was diagnosed with a cavernoma (this photo is from back then). I had it surgically removed back then and I thought it was all behind me. On Thursday I had a seizure in the middle of the night and discovered the cavernoma regrew and I’ll need to have it surgically removed. For the time being I’ve temporarily closed our Etsy shop and will no longer be accepting new orders. I’ll continue to work as best as I can to get out the remaining orders. Once I’m medically cleared I’ll reopen the shop and make an announcement. Thank you for your understanding. Love, Joe
