MASONIC NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

It's not too late to get started on New Year's Resolutions, even though it's already Groundhog Day.

Bro. Richard Powell has posted four excellent Masonic New Year's Resolutions on his blog Ars Masonica. To summarize:

Improve your ritual work. Attend schools of instruction.

Further your Masonic education. Read more. Attend classes and seminars sponsored by your Grand Lodge.

Attend Masters, Wardens and Deacons workshops.

Make an effort to attend Masonic funeral services. There is nothing more embarrassing than having only a couple of Brothers show up to a service after a family has asked for it. Freemasonry obviously meant a lot to the deceased Brother & his family because they have asked for the service. Make an extra effort to show them that it means a lot to you as well.

Canaveral Lodge #339 will hold it's annual Installation Of Officers on 1/14/2017 at 10:00 AM. It is an Open Installation so bring your family & friends. We always have a wonderful time & great food too.

Tonight at Gateway Lodge in Mims at 7 pm, our Brother, Todd Seborowski, will be passed to the FC degree. I know it is short notice, I will be carpooling with Todd, its my small convertable though, might be room for one more.

The Grand Master's visit to District 26 was held last night at the Azan Shrine Center. On hand was the Chief of Police of the Cocoa Beach Police Department along with Voo-Doo of their newly formed K-9 unit and his handler. Canaveral Lodge has been working with the Police Department by holding fundraisers to assist them with restarting their K-9 unit. Last night Voo-Doo was made the Official Mascot of the Grand Lodge of F&AM of Florida by the Grand Master & the Chief of Police of the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

All Lodges in District 26 can use this page. It's not just for Canaveral Lodge. This could be a good place to find out about the various lodges business. I know we have M&W's for that but sometimes we have other responsibilities like funerals.

I visited Worshipful Brother Dwight Easterly at Cape Canaveral Hospital today. He still can only receive family visitors but I was allowed to talk to Dwight. He was awake after being in a 2 week coma. He likes his doctors, nurses and his room view. I will explain more at our meeting Monday. Please continue your prayers for Brother Dwight, as he really needs them.
