In October, our local Chicks n Chaps members held a successful event raising money for the Kootenai Health Foundation Cancer Patient Support Program benefitting patients undergoing cancer treatment. This year, the group donated a record-breaking amount of $50,000!⁠

We want to acknowledge this group's dedication to our cancer patients and extend a very heartfelt thank you to each member!

Creating holiday magic right here at Kootenai Health ❤️🎅

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, Kootenai Health’s NICU was able to provide life-saving care to our tiniest patients right here in our community keeping families close throughout the year and this holiday season!

✨ 2,254 babies were safely discharged from NICU
✨ 206 babies weighed less than 4 pounds and were able to stay local instead of being transferred because of donor-funded equipment, including a critical ventilator
✨ 32 babies received care for Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy using the Arctic Sun system, made possible through Foundation support!

206 families who didn’t have to leave their support system. That’s countless moments of comfort, hope, and healing made possible by you!

Thank you for believing in our smallest fighters and the families who love them, your support truly saves lives right here at home.

Thank you so much to our Coeur d’Alene Police Department and local Les Schwab Tire representatives for delivering toys to Kootenai Health’s Pediatric Unit right before the holidays! 🎁🎄⁠

For the tenth year in a row, the Coeur d’Alene Police Foundation teamed up with Les Schwab to deliver bikes, games, dolls and stuffed animals for children at Kootenai Health over the holidays.⁠
⁠
Since 2015, Sgt. Shane Avriett has organized a toy drive to ensure our young patients have toys on Christmas, just like his family did when his newborn son spent the holiday in Kootenai Health's NICU. ⁠

Since its inception, it has brightened the Christmases of thousands of boys and girls 🧸
