A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at the NYS Capitol Building yesterday! 💙💚 The energy in the room was great and the messages were so inspirational.

We are so grateful to our Affiliates—those who traveled from right around the corner and those who came from far and wide—to rally for the I/DD community.

Your energy and voices are what drive this movement forward. This rally was about showing up, speaking up, and standing together to support New Yorkers with I/DD and the dedicated, essential DSPs who provide much-appreciated support every single day.

We couldn’t do this without you. Let’s keep the momentum going! ✊✨

📢 Join Us in Albany! On March 10th at 11:30 am, we're rallying at the Capitol Building. We need your help to call on our legislators!

We're advocating for increased funding for disability services through a 2.7% Targeted Inflationary Increase, the inclusion of affordable housing initiatives, enhancing the NYS Child and Dependent Care Credit, and restoring healthcare enhancement programs.

Let's work together to secure a stable care system for the I/DD community. There is power in numbers!

Today, December 3rd, we proudly recognize International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)! This day is more than an observance, it’s a worldwide commitment to champion the dignity, rights, and well-being of all people with disabilities.

Proclaimed by the UN in 1992, IDPD helps elevate the understanding of disability issues across health, social, and economic life. We stand with our community promoting the full and meaningful inclusion of every individual.

For CP State and our Affiliates, this commitment is what we live every day. Our mission is to advocate for over 100,000 individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD) right here in New York. We work to break down barriers and ensure equal opportunities for all by providing essential supports to our Affiliates, advocating, educating, and fighting for necessary legislation.

The photos accompanying this post show the incredible resilience, joy, and contributions of the individuals, families, and dedicated staff in our community. Join us in celebrating this important day! Share this post or tell us in the comments what inclusion means to you. 👇
