It’s February, so let’s talk about ❤️ health. Rural and community hospitals play a vital role in treating and preventing cardiovascular disease. They are often the first stop to a prompt diagnosis and treatment.

𝐁𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 - 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧 filled the urgent need for medical care in West Memphis, Arkansas. With an ED, two ORs, 10 patient rooms, and full imaging services, this rural hospital can now address the cardiovascular needs and more of the Crittenden County community and beyond.

In August 2014, a press conference was held at the Crittenden Regional Hospital announcing its imminent closure. Doctors and EMTs pledged their support for the community, but there was fear as it became difficult to get patients to facilities during the “golden hour” of emergency care.
