HIP FLEXOR ACTIVATION! 💥
Do you ever train your hip flexors? Usually a popular area for the body to show stretching on things like social media because yes, we all sit too much and they’re more than likely “tight”.
Stretching is of course important to counteract sitting but so is strengthening that actual muscle or part of the hip to be more functional: benefits include ⬇️
✅ Improve athletic performance $ develop more force
✅ Enhances running mechanics
✅ More support for the core/pelvis
✅ Improves muscular imbalances (less compensation from surrounding muscles)
The list could go on! This is a blanket statement, but generally, most of the population can benefit from doing some type of hip flexor activation on a weekly basis, DM with ?s!

SUSPENSION ROW CHECKLIST ✅
A great demo can go a long way. Most people or clients will understand an exercise a little better by visually seeing a great demo, and a poor demo.
In our Thrive program, we emphasize “do this”, “not that” during our demonstrations. Language and how you speak it is important, but a great demo is essential in fitness & movement coaching.
Rather than using typical trainer jargon like “squeeze your lat”. I find telling people WHERE to feel it, rather than the certain anatomy is far better received. So for a row cue, “you want to FEEL this behind your armpit”.
Better muscle connection and less fancy words. Less is more! Happy training y’all DM with any ?s

Do you move laterally?
More often than not, in the gym we tend to stick to the Sagittal plane or simply moving forward or up/down when it comes to lower body training.
That is why one of the best squat variations out there can be a lateral squat , to support those neglecting adductors or inner thigh muscles used to move the hips laterally.
The main benefits are strengthening of the hips (glutes quads and hamstrings), build better pelvic stability with the added mobility aspect to work on & help correct any lower body imbalances.
Give it try! Great for all athletes that need to cut or just in everyday life where you have to move side to side.
