Sanctum & Soil

Sanctum & Soil Sanctum & Soil began with a decision to turn toward healing when pain had narrowed what I believed was possible. Welcome!

Here, I will share the practices that helped me reconnect: trauma awareness, nervous system education, and embodied mindfulness.

If your brain has ever taken a small moment and turned it into a full documentary… this one’s for you.

The mind is really good at protecting.
Sometimes a little too good.

✨ Part 3 is live and explores how our thoughts can feel true, even when they’re just trying to keep us safe.

We don’t question our thoughts very often.

They show up, feel true, and we move through our day as if they’re facts.

But what if they’re not?

I’m starting a new blog series exploring right and wrong thinking and how our minds shape our reality, even when that reality is distorted.

✨ Part 1 is written.

Two weeks ago I shared that I was in Buena Vista exploring locations for something special… and I wanted to give you a little update.

I’m currently in the process of planning a **3-day mountain retreat** called **Rooted & Restored**.

The vision for this retreat is simple:
a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and spend intentional time in the mountains with practices that support rest, reflection, and movement.

We’re still finalizing the details (location and pricing are coming soon), but the experience will include things like:

• gentle yoga and somatic movement
• meditation and deep relaxation practices
• time in nature and along the river
• journaling and reflection
• nourishing meals together
• a closing hot springs experience

The retreat will be **limited to 20 people** so the experience stays intimate and meaningful.

More details and registration information will be coming soon, but I wanted to share the direction things are taking because I’m really excited about it.

If this sounds like something you’d want to be part of, feel free to send me a message or comment below, and I’ll make sure you’re the first to hear when registration opens.

More soon. 🌿

🌿 Movement as Care

Somewhere along the way, movement stopped being something natural and started becoming something we felt we had to get right.

It became exercise. Discipline. A task to complete. A way to fix something about ourselves.

But before all of that, movement was just… movement.

Children stretch when they wake up. They run because their legs feel fast. They dance without worrying about whether it “counts.” The body knows how to move long before we start measuring it.

In my newest blog, I’m reflecting on what it looks like to return to movement as care instead of control and how listening to the body can guide us back to a healthier relationship with it.

If you’re curious, there are several new pieces up on the blog.

✨ Go take a look and see if something speaks to you.

Retreat update! 🏔️🌿

This Wednesday I’ll be visiting a few potential sites here in Colorado… and I cannot wait.

There’s something so exciting about walking a space in person. I enjoy feeling the energy, noticing the light, imagining conversations around a fire pit, movement in a quiet room, and connection unfolding against a mountain backdrop.

Planning a retreat isn’t just about finding a pretty location.
It’s about finding a place that can hold what we’re building. I am looking for space for rest, reflection, growth, laughter, and the kind of connection that stays with you long after you leave.

We’re getting closer.
And I am so ready to share where we land for the Colorado retreat. 🤍

August 2026 is the vision, and it’s starting to feel very real.

Stay tuned. More soon. ✨

I’ve been writing a lot lately.
About rest. Listening. Choice. Regulation. Wellness.
No pressure. No agenda.

If you’re curious, there are several new blogs on my site.
You don’t have to read them all.
Just see if something speaks to you.

A little sneak peek of what’s coming… 🌿🏔️

Colorado retreat planning is officially underway.

Which right now looks like dinner conversations, big ideas, notebooks out, and dreaming out loud, including a great planning night with Shannon from **Travel Well** as we explored what *the perfect place* could look like. And let me tell you… There are some really beautiful options on the table. ✨

This is very much the early planning stage, but the intention is clear.

Wellness sometimes looks like stepping away.
Time to reboot.
Time to breathe differently.
Time to reconnect with yourself and with others, and gain insight that’s hard to access in the middle of everyday noise.

We’re aiming for **August 2026** ☀️
Plenty of time to shape this with care, intention, and alignment.

So keep your eyes open, friends.
More details will be coming as things take form, and I can’t wait to share what this becomes. ✨

Well… my team lost the Super Bowl yesterday. 🏈😅
And before anyone says it **no Patriots hate comments**, please. I’m fragile, hahaha

Here’s the thing, though: watching a loss always makes me think about something **Simon Sinek** talks about often *how teams actually work*.

Great teams aren’t just united when they’re winning.
They’re connected by shared goals, trust, and the ability to stay aligned when things don’t go their way.

A team that only celebrates wins isn’t a team.
A team that shows up *together*, especially in disappointment, that’s where resilience is built.

And honestly? This applies way beyond football.

Who you surround yourself with matters.
People who want you to win, not just look good.
People who don’t disappear when things are hard.
People who celebrate effort, growth, and integrity, not just outcomes.

Whether it’s sports, work, relationships, or life in general, success isn’t just about the scoreboard. It’s about being part of something where everyone is moving in the same direction, even when the final score stings a little.

So yes, I’m bummed.
Yes, I’ll recover.
And yes, I know how we show up *together* matters more than a single win. 🫶

(And again… Patriots jokes will be lovingly ignored. 😄)

This weekend, I’m doing something simple and really important. 🌿🎨

I’m attending a local artist’s art show.

Because community matters. Because creativity matters. Because the people around us are brave enough to make things and share them, and that deserves to be seen and supported.

Supporting local doesn’t always look like big gestures. Sometimes it’s just showing up. Walking through the door. Making eye contact. Saying, “I see you. I value what you create.”

When we support local artists, makers, and small businesses, we’re investing in the nervous system of our community, in connection, expression, and shared humanity.

So here’s your gentle nudge:
Get out this weekend. Go somewhere local. Attend the show. Buy the coffee. Cheer someone on. Do the small thing that keeps your community alive and thriving.

The world gets better when we show up for each other. 🤍

Having a few days off before stepping into a completely different schedule has been… interesting. 🌱

I’m somehow busier. Creating more. Doing things that support the future I’m building. And I’m genuinely excited about it.

This morning I was at Starbucks, with an important phone call to make and schoolwork to finish, and before diving in, I paused to watch for a moment.

People coming and going.
Music playing.
Orders being called out.
Cups sliding across the counter.

Loud. Busy. Full.

And yet… almost everyone had earbuds in. Laptops open. Eyes down. Worlds narrowed. Only a small handful of people actually talking to each other.

I noticed myself wanting to do the same. Earbuds in. Volume down. Everything muted so I could focus.

And it got me thinking about connection.

How often do we do this in life, not just in coffee shops, but with people? When things feel too loud, too much, too close, or too intense… we dampen the volume. We retreat. We disappear a little.

It makes sense. Overwhelm is real.

But burying our heads in the sand doesn’t make life quieter. It just removes us from it.

As intimidating and noisy as life can be sometimes, showing up still matters. Not loudly. Not perfectly. Just honestly.

I hope you’re building the life you want in a way that honors your capacity, your pace, your nervous system, your intensity, without disappearing from the world you’re meant to live in. 🤍

Sometimes showing up is just choosing to stay present… even when it’s a little loud.

Currently sitting in the massage office…
waiting for my **new massage table** to be delivered. 😄🪑✨

Which means I am doing that thing where you’re pretending to be calm, but inside you’re like:
*Is this excitement? Is this terror? Is this joy? Is this all of it at once?*
(Answer: yes.)

There is something wildly thrilling, and slightly intimidating, about choosing your passion and then actually showing up for it. Like, *oh wow*, I really get to do the thing I love. On purpose. In real life. 🥹

The joy that comes from finding your work, your calling, your *this is it* - it’s hard to explain. It’s equal parts gratitude, awe, and “how did I get this lucky?”

And I want to say something important, especially in true Sanctum & Soil fashion 🌿:

If massage, or touch in general, has ever felt scary, overwhelming, or uneasy in your nervous system, you are exactly who I want to welcome here.
This space is not about pushing, fixing, or forcing anything.

Our goal is simple:
✨ Help you move with **less pain**
✨ Support **more ease and movement**
✨ Create enough safety that your body can exhale

Thriving is the aim. Always.

I will keep learning.
I will keep growing.
I will keep showing up with curiosity, care, and respect for your nervous system and your story.

To my clients: thank you for trusting me with your care. That trust is not lost on me, ever. 🤍
And to those who haven’t come in yet: I hope you will. I’d love to support you.

Now excuse me while I continue waiting for this massage table like it’s Christmas morning. 🎁😅
