Our Vision: Unity Empowerment Resource Center Inc. envision a state that values the voices, knowledge, and life experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS; where HIV education and healthcare are accessible, compassionate, and without moral judgment and where people living with HIV/AIDS live in a community of mutual support and are treated as whole individuals worthy of love, respect and dignity. Outreach/Prevention: ERC will use creative and intensive Outreach/Prevention efforts to help those needing to get into care and for prevention for people facing persistent barriers to access to information and much needed care; we will work on new and innovative Outreach/ prevention strategies to help reduce the spread of HIV in our community. Education/Advocacy: UERC will help increase the awareness and the need for understanding of what stigma and discrimination can cause, and the benefits of reducing them, using a combination of education, advocacy which involves activities that encourage dialogue, interaction and critical thinking, for all people involved and affected with HIV. The Youth Warriors will offer the young people a chance to build a stronger future, one in which they believe in themselves, and where they have the leadership and character to make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of other young people. The Warriors along with working with UERC will help: End the silence, stigma and shame. Provide young people with knowledge and information. Work with young people, and promote their participation. Create safe and supportive space and environments. Provide young people with knowledge and information. Equip young people with life skills to put knowledge into practice. Engage young people who are living with HIV/AIDS.
