This week, we celebrated our founder, Dr. Rob, and this incredible milestone. His journey wasn’t something that happened to him, it was something he chose, with intention and commitment. And that choice became the foundation for everything we do.

What’s been built here is not theoretical. It’s not abstract. It’s rooted in lived experience, deep passion, and a commitment to showing up day in and day out, for those seeking a different path.

It’s inspiring to work alongside someone whose personal journey has created hope and opportunity for so many others. The impact reaches far beyond one person: it touches every life that walks through these doors.

We are proud. We are grateful. And we are honored to help carry forward a vision built with this level of intention and purpose.

This warm weather called for a field day! ☀️

During group, patients got to enjoy the sunny spring weather outside while participating in a fun activity that symbolized the challenges they navigate throughout their recovery journey.

There were plenty of laughs, shared moments, and teamwork as everyone supported one another along their individual paths. Even some of the Basecamp team joined in on the fun!

🌸 Spring brought more than sunshine at Basecamp’s Spring Fling—it brought laughter, connection, and moments of joy that matter deeply in recovery. Patients celebrated the season with outdoor games, an Easter egg hunt, and time together in the warm weather.

Congratulations to all who graduated from Basecamp Recovery Center! 🎓

We came together to celebrate this incredible milestone! We heard powerful testimonies, a moving poem shared by one of our patients, and honoring each graduate as they received their certification from the Basecamp Recovery Program.

These moments are more than a celebration. They are a reflection of courage, resilience, and the hard work it takes to choose recovery every day.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month.

At Basecamp, we want to reach those who may feel stuck in the cycle of addiction and remind you that change is always possible.

Alcohol use disorder can be isolating, but you are not alone. There is a path forward, and support is here when you’re ready to take that first step.

This month is an opportunity to raise awareness, deepen understanding, and help our community recognize the signs of struggle, so more individuals can connect with the care, compassion, and resources they deserve.

Healing doesn’t happen alone. At Basecamp, we walk alongside you every step of the way.

Basecamp recently had the opportunity to tour three incredible recovery centers!

💙 Thank you to New Day Recovery and Carrie Ann for inviting us to see the impactful work you’re doing in Northeast Ohio. Your commitment to treatment is truly inspiring and a reminder that we’re all in this together.

💙 ANEW Behavioral Health in Akron welcomed us to tour their new IOP space. Expanding access to care is no small task, but with passionate leaders like Tugg Massa, there is real hope for meaningful change.

💙 We also visited Armada Recovery’s Akron location, where their detox and residential facilities are making a powerful difference. Thank you to Alyssa Gilpin for showing us around.

Experiences like these remind us that community matters and no one has to walk this journey alone. There are so many people who care deeply and are committed to helping others make the climb of their lives. 💙

This week, patients took part in an obstacle course group activity called “Stuck in the Mud”!

Through each step of the course, they had the opportunity to navigate both internal and external challenges in a fun, symbolic way. Activities like this help build resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment.

Creating energetic, engaging, and thought-provoking spaces supports recovery in meaningful ways because growth happens when people feel connected, challenged, and encouraged.

Brandon from the Follow Up Program recently visited and toured our Basecamp East location. He plays a vital role in recovery by picking individuals up after detox and ensuring they get where they need to be for the next step in their journey.
