Are you feeling unsure about what calcium-rich foods to eat if you are avoiding dairy??πŸ€”

Even though following a diary free diet is NOT necessary if you have endometriosis and many of my clients are able to eat diary food without flare-ups. There are still many questions on what dairy free alternatives that can help you meet the calcium requirements if you're trying to limit dairy products.

These are some of my favorites πŸ‘‡:

πŸ₯¦ Vegetables like broccoli, Kale, bok choy, spinach, turnip greens
πŸ₯œ Nuts, seeds and legumes such as chia seeds, soybeans (tofu with calcium sulfate), pinto beans
🐟 Canned sardines and salmon with edible bones

🌟If you are unable to get enough calcium from food, calcium supplements (the most common ones are calcium carbonate and calcium citrate) may be required to feel the gap. Remember to consult a dietitian for your specific supplement needs.

Wanting to eat healthier but feel short on time ALL THE TIME? πŸ™„

Follow those 3 steps to help you plan ahead and alleviate some mealtime stress:

Step 1: Determine your weekly menu and write it down. It is okay to have leftovers and have the same dish several times per week. Pick few meals and rotate them across the week.

Step 2: Check your inventory before you go to the supermarket. To avoid food waste, check your pantry, fridge and freezer before making your final shopping list.

Step 3: Be sure to plan and cook your meals with the five food groups (vegetables, fruits, protein, grains, dairy or dairy alternatives) in mind. All five food groups are important component of healthy eating.
