In-Person Medical Interpreters Needed – Central Ohio
Somali Interpreter & Global Language Services is expanding its network of professional interpreters to support healthcare providers and patients throughout Central Ohio, particularly within the Columbus metropolitan area. Our organization is committed to improving language access in healthcare settings by providing accurate, ethical, and professional interpretation services between medical professionals and patients with limited English proficiency.
We are currently seeking qualified interpreters who are available to provide in-person interpretation services in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities across Central Ohio.

Somali
Spanish
Haitian Creole
Nepali
Amharic
Portuguese
Swahili
Arabic
Applicants who are fluent in additional languages are also encouraged to apply.
Work Availability
Assignments are generally scheduled during standard healthcare operating hours, typically Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Depending on language demand and interpreter availability, interpreters may receive approximately 25 to 40 hours of assignments per week.
Service Area
Interpretation services are provided throughout Central Ohio, including healthcare facilities located in and around the Columbus metropolitan area.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreter Training Program from a recognized training provider.
Fluency in English and at least one of the required languages listed above.
Ability to provide accurate and professional interpretation in medical environments.
Reliable transportation to attend in-person healthcare appointments throughout Central Ohio.
Successful completion of a criminal background check, including both FBI and BCI background clearances.
Strong professional communication skills, punctuality, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in healthcare interpretation.
