π Black History Month Resident Spotlight π
This Black History Month, Trueman Point is honored to celebrate the life, legacy, and beautiful spirit of our resident Ms. Anne Russ, born in 1954. Her story is one of faith, service, music, and unwavering love for her community.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Russ was raised in a family that valued knowledge and culture, owning a beloved bookstore until 1999 β a place where stories were shared, minds were nurtured, and generations were inspired.
Music has always lived deep within Ms. Russβ soul. With a true passion for gospel music, she used her voice and musical gifts to uplift hearts and spread hope. Alongside her mother, she lovingly performed at nursing facilities, filling hallways with praise, comfort, and joy β a ministry of music that touched countless lives.
Ms. Russ also dedicated her life to education and leadership, serving as a sixth-grade and French teacher at a private school before becoming the schoolβs principal. Her commitment to guiding and uplifting others extended beyond the classroom, as she later spent over 20 years as a funeral director, offering compassion, dignity, and peace to families during their most difficult moments. She also served faithfully as an STNA, caring for others with the same grace she carried in her music.
A devoted mother of three beautiful children, Ms. Russβ life reflects strength, faith, purpose, and love. We are deeply honored to recognize her during Black History Month and celebrate the powerful legacy she continues to share with us every day at Trueman Point. πβ¨πΆ
