In our culture, plus-size bodies are often met with unfair criticism and unrealistic standards. This pervasive negativity can lead to an internal dialogue of constant self-critique, causing many to view their bodies with disdain instead of the appreciation and reverence they deserve.
"Intro to Sensual Movement as a Healing Practice for Plus-Size Bodies" is designed to address this issue head-on. This 90-minute session is dedicated to unearthing the seeds of body shame, self-critique, and negative self-talk that many plus-size individuals face daily. Through this practice, participants will learn to embrace compassion, intimacy, and grace towards themselves.
What We Are Rejecting:
🙅🏾♀️Body Shame: Discarding feelings of inadequacy and negativity about our bodies.
🙅🏾♀️Self-Critique: Moving away from constant self-judgment and harsh inner dialogue.
🙅🏾♀️Negative Self-Talk: Silencing the internal voices that diminish our self-worth.
What We Are Embracing:
🍯Compassion: Cultivating kindness and understanding towards ourselves.
🍯Intimacy: Developing a deeper, more loving connection with our own bodies.
🍯Grace: Approaching ourselves with gentleness and respect.
🍯Adoration: Celebrating the beauty and strength of our bodies.
🍯Gentleness: Treating ourselves with a soft, caring touch.
🍯Healing Touch: Using movement as a way to heal and nurture our bodies.
By engaging in sensual movement and self-reflection, we will guide you on a meditative journey to reclaim an internal voice that celebrates the beauty and strength of your body. This practice serves as an introduction to The Messy Movement Methodology, providing a welcoming space to restore a positive relationship with your body.
Join us in this virtual setting from the comfort of your home, where we will plant new seeds of adoration, gentleness, and healing touch. No movement experience is required—just wear comfortable clothing and bring something that makes you feel sexy for the second half of the class. Gym shoes and a yoga mat are also recommended for our warm-up.
Together, let's confront societal pressures and negative self-talk, and reclaim our bodies with ease and confidence.
